Re: Needing some help, Please assist if you can.

v3.1 sounds like it would do what I want.

As far as asking for a specific Mod, I wasn't. I was simply expressing interest in the discussion in this topic and responding to a comment.

Re: Needing some help, Please assist if you can.

No need for a PM, I would just like to be able to list Groups other than Staff. Some option that would allow me to select specific groups to display under "The team" would be more than sufficient for me. I don't have that big a site yet. ;)

Re: How may I allow my users to change their own Groups?

That permission doesn't enable users to change their group just to set which group, if they are a member of more than one, is their default. That's exactly what I want to do. Still not working. (: What does that mean? Do you see the Change default group button on the Edit memberships page in the UC...

Re: How may I allow my users to change their own Groups?

If one of those groups is set to "NEVER", it will override the "YES" permission you set for another group. Just went through all my Groups and nothing was set to "NEVER" but I did make sure every Group was able to change their own status in the permissions. Still not working. :( Thanks for the idea...

Re: Needing some help, Please assist if you can.

Sounds like a useful addition/expansion of the phpbb forum software. I could use something like that on my site and will try to watch your topic here to see how it works out. :) Also, have you looked at the bottom of the index page and investigated the link called "The team"? In my forum it only lis...

Re: Want forum visible on forum home, but access only for me

Glad to see you were able to resolve this yourself. :) You may find it useful to have some forums that only your users can see. I have a hidden, private forum for users only called "Off topic" where they can post almost anything they want to talk about without having to worry about anyone that is no...

Re: How do spammers inject new members into the database?

... One site has an impossible question and the other has registration disabled. If you want to give an example of your excellent protection it might be useful to actually post the link you mean :) This is the forum I'm referring to: https://wildtangentfansite.com/Forum/index.php And the question i...

Re: How do spammers inject new members into the database?

Registration is deactivated on your other site. I know. I did that on purpose as, since I'm no longer teaching, I no longer have students. Mostly, the only users I allowed on the forum were my students. (wondering if I should simply remove my old website/forum from my signature if it's going to cau...

Re: How do spammers inject new members into the database?

Because, at the time, I didn't have my technique in place. Also, you are looking at my teaching website which I haven't used sine mid 2009 when I last taught.

Take a look at my other website which is currently active.

Re: How do spammers inject new members into the database?

Brand new website, brand new phpbb 3.0.12 forum, only one member in forum (me.) "Install" folder deleted, and the main folder for the forum was NOT called phpbb (let's say I called the folder "xyz".) ... I have developed a seemingly unique technique for stopping Spammer which I call a Spam Trap. It...

Re: Need information on location of the ACP and MCP links.

Questions regarding the standard styles go in, [3.0.x] Styles Support & Discussion . Figures, I was trying to determine where best to post and never even thought about looking for a styles only forum. Guess I need to visit more often than I do. :( Would you mind moving the topic for me? Anot...

Re: How to increase topic title length in 3.0.9[SOLVED]

Sorry for Necro-posting, but this is just what I was looking for for v3.0.12. I have just made the changes and they appear to work well.

Thank you for this topic and thank you for a search function that works so well!
