Re: Assistance for the creation of a forum

Since your top level domain appears to be a Wordpress site, putting a phpBB forum in a subdomain is I think a good idea, as it distinguishes it as having a separate purpose from the Wordpress framework. If you want the forum's style to look different than Wordpress's, it also sets that expectation.

Re: [RC] Filter by country - version 1.0.6

after a while I have this popup window that appears http://pixupload.free.fr/upload/o4yxig_erreur.png I doubt that is my extension unless some sort of exception is being returned saying the MaxMind database is unavailable. Since the database is local, you can check that it exists and is readable in...

Filter by country - version 1.0.6 released

See the first post. Thanks for all your testing. Here's a summary of what's changed in 1.0.6, a release candidate: When decompressing the Maxmind database, try/catch logic is now used so any exception is properly handled The extension won't try to load the database without first testing if the file ...

Re: $phpbb_container from migration file

Thanks for the suggestion. I added the following to my migrator program: public function update_data() { return [ ['custom', [[$this, 'install_database']]], ]; } public function install_database() { $language = $this->container->get('language'); $phpbb_root_path = $this->container->getParameter('cor...

Re: $phpbb_container from migration file

As 3Di pointed out, it won't work in ext.php either. Your services won't be available to the container until you see the page that says your extension has been enabled, at which point all migrations and ext.php code are done executing. I'd solve it with a config value that signals whether your reso...

Re: $phpbb_container from migration file

I tried first in my ext.php : $helper = $this->container->get('phpbbservices.filterbycountry.common'); which returned (in part): Fatal error: Uncaught Symfony\Component\DependencyInjection\Exception\ServiceNotFoundException: You have requested a non-existent service "phpbbservices.filterbycountry.co...

Re: $phpbb_container from migration file

I'll try doing it in ext.php. I am currently using it mainly to make sure all the prerequisites are in place, as the extension requires a number of PHP extensions and modules.

Re: $phpbb_container from migration file

The custom function would have to be available to other programs. I wonder if I'd have to define a service to the migration program. Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: $phpbb_container from migration file

I want to reuse some functions in my helper file. This extension uses an external database by MaxMind which I want to download and include in the /store folder as part of installation and remove on deinstallation. Now that I think about it, it makes sense that the migration programs wouldn't know ab...

Re: $phpbb_container from migration file

No, but thanks for the suggestion. It returns this error: Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function get() on null It fails on this line: $helper = $this->container->get('phpbbservices.filterbycountry.common'); and the service is defined: phpbbservices.filterbycountry.common: class: phpb...

$phpbb_container from migration file

I would like to grab a service I created and use it in one of my migration programs. I was hoping $phpbb_container would be available as a global variable so I could use that, but it's not. It's unclear to me what's the best way to handle situations like this, but using $phpbb_container seems the ea...

Re: [RC] Filter by country - version 1.0.5

I will be. But I'm realizing I need to move the logic to populate the MaxMind database inside the installer, and to remove it when deleting data for the extension. This should make a lot of the issues you are experiencing moot. So expect to see this in the next version.

Re: [RC] Filter by country - version 1.0.5

That's good. The .gz file is decompressed into the .mmdb file, which is the actual database.

Re: [RC] Filter by country - version 1.0.5

Thanks for your help. I assume the database downloaded.

I may need to move the event to create the database into the install process.
