Just found 1 slight little problem in digests.php. Looks like a over sight, but on line 29 I think it should read : include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/page_header.'.$phpEx); It was looking for page_header_test. Apart from that it's all installed, now I'll just have to wait and see if a email arri...

I've been using DBAL for my beta, but my SQL is very complex and uses heavy MySQL functions. I have no idea how to write this stuff for every database out there, but it sure works fine on MySQL. I also don't have access to those databases. As an example, am I responsible for making this DBAL code, t...

Okay, I made a small mod so that the HTML version of the email digest will apply the site stylesheet. You'll may need to edit two new lines in digest_constants.php. See the notes in digest.txt. It works for me but email clients are inconsistent and fussy. I don't know if it will work for your email ...

I'm glad you like my mod. Unless the changes are major please copy and paste the code here and I will review it. If it looks good I'll add it to the next version and submit it as a request for an official modification with credits, of course, for contributors. I'm looking at how to add the styleshee...

Thanks for the positive feedback. I was a little surprised it didn't generate more buzz when I first put it out as a Beta, since it seemed like an essential feature for BBS software. My approach though is to spit out a highly customized digest unique for each person and that could put a lot of strai...

The user's problem was with the CSS, not my modification. I'd like to move it up to a real mod, but I didn't see any interest in it here until recently. If you think I should I will give it a try. It's a complex mod with a heavy emphasis on mySQL. I'm not sure how to make it more generic. Any sugges...

I use the Desert Storm theme that I downloaded, somewhat customized, but it tested fine on subSilver. I can't take kudos for that. But I am interested in whether it is as portable as I think it will be, and whether it will be of interest to the larger community. I see an email digest as another way ...

Fair enough. The data entry screen is large enough to require a scroll. Here is a sample of the top of the page: http://www.potomactavern.org/tavern/digest_1.jpg and the bottom: http://www.potomactavern.org/tavern/digest_2.jpg A sample digest gets emailed, of course, and is rendered by the email cli...

[MODDB] Email Digests

You can find this MOD in the MOD Database here: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=187868 This is my first modification so be gentle. This is software that sends email digests to subscribers. It requires crontab or something similar be set up on the server to call the mail_digests.php progr...

emailer class and block variables

I am working on a mod that will email custom digests to users. Naturally I want to use the emailer class or it is unlikely the mod will be accepted. In addition I'd like to use templates, for the same reason. The emailer class has a use_template operation, which is good, and a assign_vars operation,...

SMTP is disabled. I guess I am using SendMail.

I will try upgrading to see if that solves the problem. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

[Svd`] Long Email Subjects upon User Account Activation

I'm tearing my hair out over here. I am running 2.0.3 and when a new user registers they get an email where the message is contained in the subject. Even more puzzling when I go into language/lang_english/email and look through the templates I can't find the template for this message. This used to w...

So do you want someone to help walk you through the phpBB style coding such as the database and template classes? That would be helpful. I understand some of it, particularly the template class and I think I understand the abstraction layer with the database class. But other issues like internation...
