reCaptcha not showing for some people

I'm running a board that gets about 50-75 new users a day. Of those 50-75, I'd say I get 2-3 a day who email me to say that the reCaptcha image is not appearing. Refreshing the screen doesn't work. I've worked with one of them, and had him open the exact URL that PHPBB is using to retrieve the reCap...

Re: Repeating Emails sent ....

I think I might have a clue as to what is triggering this, at least on my system. I notice that the repeated email notifications are ONLY sent for PM notifications - not regular thread notifications. Also, the email notifications are always sent to the same people - for instance, when I get a PM as ...

Re: Repeating Emails sent ....

It's been a known bug for quite some time: http://www.phpbb.com/bugs/phpbb3/ticket.php?ticket_id=38985 However they couldn't reproduce it, so they said "hopefully it will be fixed in 3.05." It is not. Here's text from that ticket: At the moment there is no real solution because we are not ...

Re: Repeating Emails sent ....

I'm having the same exact problem, and it is driving my users crazy. Deleting the cache/queue.php file works until the next time it happens...usually within a day or so. No idea what is triggering it to start happening, and manually deleting a file when it decides to start spewing duplicate emails o...

Another problem with SQL 2000

This is a bug I discovered last year, but it still exists in the current 2.0.18 release. When running on MS SQL Server, it does not trim spaces from columns inside recordsets returned from the database - the end result is that you can never actually have an "empty" string in any form box. ...

I had the exact same problem. It appears that 2.0.18 is broken for installs on SQL 2000.

To get around the problem, I installed 2.0.17, and it installed perfectly. I then upgraded it to 2.0.18, and the board now seems to work fine.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. There is a step 3 in the process I listed above:

3. Upgrade to 2.0.18 to prevent this from happening again!!!!

The hackers have altered the name of your forum. Your forum is outputting the following HTML: <title><script>location="http://www.black-port.org/hacked.htm"</script> :: </title> Normally this would say something like this: <titleMy Forum Name Here</title> Notice the hackers have inserted J...

Completely lost with bizarre installation problem

I have installed five separate PHPBB systems on this server, running off SQL Server 2000, without a hitch. However, attempting to install this new 2.0.18 forum, I am getting a bizarre error during the install that I can't explain. I create the database. I unpack the PHPBB files. I run the install, f...
