Help with sudden Travis build error for php 5.3.3

I have a travis build that is suddenly failing with minimal code changes. I went back and ran a build that was previously passing and the php 5.3.3 job fails. Please help, I can't figure this out.

Here's the build: https://travis-ci.org/blitze/phpBB-ext-sitemaker

Thanks in advance

Ext writer's responsibility with modified tables

So let's say extension A modifies the forum table and adds a "my_field" column with something like this in the migration file: array('my_field' => array('TEXT', '') Notice that "my_field" has no default value. By itself, this is not a problem if a template event is provided on the create forum page ...

Re: Help with Travis build

Yes they are git ignored. I was just pointing out the fact that those folders (node_modules and bower_components) will only exist locally in your dev environment and will not exist in your travis build. So this issue with EPV will therefore only exist if you run EPV locally.

Re: Help with Travis build

Thanks for clarifying that Paul. I didn't think about the different directories from which it could be run. I appears that the directories need to be excluded in both the loadFiles and setBasedir methods to fix this. At the end of the day, this only matters when running EPV locally since for the mos...

Re: Help with Travis build

Upon further review, the issue is really with the loadFiles () method of the testRunner.php. It excludes files from vendor, tests and travis only. I will put in request to add node_modules and bower_components to the list of excluded directories. I still don't think we need am iterator to look for c...

Re: Help with Travis build

Ok, I think I have figured it out. The EPV has the following lines in the TestRunner.php file: $iterator = $finder ->files() ->name('composer.json') ->exclude('vendor') ->in($this->directory); I don't know if this is by design but it will look for the composer.json in sub-folders of the extension. S...

Re: Help with Travis build

I get the same thing running it locally as well.

I have deleted and re-created composer.json
I have checked file permissions (-rw-r--r--)
I have run php composer.phar validate and it says it is valid

So I have no idea what to do next

Re: Help with Travis build

gn#36 you are a life-saver! You are absolutely right in both cases. I really appreciate your help. I was able to resolve those but now i'm running into: [Phpbb\Epv\Tests\Exception\TestException] Can't find the required composer.json file. I have no idea what I've done to create this mess. Please help.

Re: Help with Travis build

My travis build is failing again, this time for all sqlite3 builds. To investigate if it is something with my code, I cloned a new copy of phpbb (3.1.x branch) on my local machine and created an sqlite3 database. I was able to install phpbb with sqlite3 but when I go to the index.php I get the follo...

Re: Best Practices - passing db tables to services

The idea of using defined constants was for the same reason too: to avoid having too many dependencies on the classes. Your option of using a tables class is interesting. I have looked at other extensions and they all do it differently. So I was wondering if there is any recommended way. What to the...

Best Practices - passing db tables to services

if a service requires a database table, is it better to use dependency injection and pass the database parameter to the class or can we define the table constants in an event listener and use the constants in the class? Is there an advantage of one over the other? I believe the former is better sinc...

Re: [DEV] phpBB Primetime

Yeah those are separate extensions. I'll start a different topic for each one. In the mean time, go to ACP and install them, then ACP > Primetime > Content Types / Categories
