Vista took up about 11 GB of hard drive space when I installed it. I guess the extra 5 GB would be for your own software and data.

The current builds of Vista have a lot of debug processes and debugging code in it, which result in it running slower than a 'release' build would. It must have some giant pile of debug code for it to run so darned slow on my dual-core AthlonX2 w/1 GB RAM. Or, perhaps as I suspected beforehand, it ...

Yeah, while America is a hybrid of sorts, it still manages to be distinct from the rest of the world (i.e. over 90% speak English), whereas Canada has taken to itself English and French, as if the UK and France had some sort of abrupt merger, and they had to figure out a way to glue together the lan...

That's like dropping a wine glass and not breaking it. It can happen, but it's rare.

2. How does software verification spell the end of windows? I don't see XP being shunned by the masses of the general public because of it, or Norton, Photoshop etc for it either. Next please. I don't think he was referring to Product Activation or even the more recent Genuine Advantage. DRM, Palla...

Windows 2000 was super-awesome (at least compared to the other Windowses). The only major problem with it is that it is older, and slowly beginning to fall behind hardware and software standards. Windows NT 4 was also awesome in it's day. It only started to suck when it continued to get older. Don't...

We need 64-bit for more RAM. 32-bit can only use up to 4 GB RAM. Yeah I wouldn't mind buying a "Super XP". It would represent 5 years of Microsoft effort, and it would come a long way from the original October 2001 Windows XP. Idea: make Service Pack 3 and sell it for $50 (security updates/bug fixes...

Well the American culture might get diluted, if too many people from the rest of the world come to the US, then the word "American" might eventually lose its meaning. A similar kind of thing has happened to an extent in Canada, the word "Canadian" can already have so many different meanings, thanks ...

I had one of the older betas, it sucked really bad. Then I had Beta 2, it was a lot better than the first one I had, but it was incredibly huge, clunky, and buggy. You need one heck of a fast machine to get the most out of it. If your computer was made in 2003 or earlier, stay away from it. Or if yo...

Oh yes, some of the old-timers would like it. But consider the 4 possible people that are here: Person 1: phpBB 2.0 and 3.0 rule! Person 2: phpBB 2.0 was awesome, but 3.0 sucks Person 3: phpBB 2.0 sucked, but now 3.0 is awesome! Person 4: phpBB will suck forever no matter how many versions there are...

Something tells me that phpBB will undergo a new world order of sorts. Some old-timer phpBB fans might be turned off, while whole new legions of fans come forward, and vBulletin et al might slash prices in response. That's what it looks like to me. A massive upheaval in the world of phpBB! Out with ...

What the heck!?

Is this for real!? phpBB 3 is already in Beta stage in 2006!? Wow! I thought this would end up like Duke Nukem Forever... I was expecting this to be around 2008 or 2009. You guys are fast! :D Congratulations on exceeding my (and many others) expectations! :D I'm pretty sure I'm not asleep or taking ...

Convertors

Wouldn't the proper name for phpBB convertors be "upgrades"?

Or is that too egotistical?
