Re: Where are the pictures?

You should be able to link to an image attachment on another forum just fine. Right-click on the image attachment and get its URL, just like this: http://www.castledoom.com/CN/download/file.php?id=494 It does not work for me, right click on image "copy image location" http://www.pilotodyssey.com/PO...

Re: Where are the pictures?

You will note that it is not only image files that can be uploaded to your files folder, but executables as well. Would you like to give the entire internet the ability to upload and then execute files on your server? Do you think that might be a security issue? This is bulletin board software, NOT...

Re: Where are the pictures?

To use the picture elsewhere, upload a copy of the image to a different folder. The feature is designed to allow files to be SECURELY attached to phpbb posts, not to be an FTP server or a Photobucket. I have 26,000 pictures in my files folder on my V2 so when I upgrade I should create another folde...

Re: Where are the pictures?

I dont understand the concern with people stealing images from my board ... Because they don't often just take a copy once, they link to the image on your web server, and it uses YOUR bandwidth any time the image is displayed on THEIR website. As mentioned, attachment handling is not a MOD for phpB...

Re: Where are the pictures?

That is done by design, to stop people stealing images from your board. All those images (and anything else attached to messages) are saved in the "/files" folder, with arbitrary filenames. This has specifically been done to stop them being linked to from elsewhere. If you want to display images on...

Re: You do not have the required permissions to view the files a

Two questions. Two answers. I am sorry but I am still confused, I am sure you have a picture of all this in your head but the picture I see is completely blank. Your answering these? The three Global permissions are ones which apply to every forum or are unrelated to forums altogether. In addition,...

Re: You do not have the required permissions to view the files a

The Global Permissions are User, Administrator, and Global Moderator. Setting a permission in there is not connected to a single forum. In Forum Permissions, you select which forum to apply the permission to. Insure that in Forum Permissions, you are using a Forum Permission Role that sets the perm...

The three Global permissions are ones which apply to every forum or are unrelated to forums altogether. That makes no sense to me at all. In addition, make sure the Guests usergroup ha...

Re: You do not have the required permissions to view the files a

I am in the Administration Control Panel and I click on what? Sorry but as I stated before I am tota...
