Gateway timeout is not a PHPBB error - it's a breakdown in communications between your computer and the web server. You will normally only see it when a proxy is involved. Until you know why it is happening, though, there is no way to answer your question. With a link to the board, others could chec...

There can be several, subtle-but-not-fatal problems. I'd start with having phpmyadmin repair the three tables, just in case there is a marginal index causing problems.

Then, if it still doesn't work, take a look a the MOD to rebuild search tables.

Although ALOT of the options in php.ini can be set on a per-folder basis using htaccess. Typically, though, timeout isn't one of them, for security reasons. And few, if any, user pages in PHPBB should take more than a second to generate in any case. External factors (such as a bad template, MOD tha...

Nuke-modified boards are not supported here. Any advice offered here might even damage your site, because Nuke makes so many changes to things like the authentication system. Applying updates from this site will also tend to break things on a Nuke board. Best to seek advice from the place where you ...

When you go to do a restore like this, if your backup does not have the DROP TABLES IF EXISTS that Lumpy mentions, you can do the following: Make a COPY of your backup file. Load the copy into a text editor that can handle it. Do a search and replace of "INSERT INTO" with "REPLACE INT...
