you can do it with iframes but thats a bit horrible :P changing overall_header.tpl and overall_footer.tpl to look like your site is the easier thing to do. then you could move the forum to your root or something ....

you can do it through phpmyadmin and the import tool or in the acp you should have a restore database option under general admin section ;)

it'll be an insert. eg INSERT INTO (TABLE NAME) (COLUMNS) (VALUES) although if the backup was done in phpmyadmin it sorta shorthands the insert which could make it harder. if you know liek the topic name or username you could search through the SQL backup for that specefically and try and extract th...

basically those symbols as said are html code type things. they're made (if i remember correctly) by htmlspecialchars() which processes the text submitted and converts the characters into the html codes for some sort of security purpose. as far as i'm aware it doesn't process it back but the browser...
