Rename viewforum.php

I want to rename viewforum.php to archive.php (or something along those lines), so instead of seeing domain.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=14, it would say domain.com/forum/archive.php?f=14

Any help is appreciated

The easiest way to achieve this with an easy way to change it back would be to just add a redirect at the begining of index.php find the line // // End session management // and after add this redirect(append_sid("viewforum.$phpEx?f=FORUM#", true)); OR if you only wanted that to happen for logged i...

At first i thought you just wanted the links that say "forum index" to point there , but you dont want an index page at all correct ?

Correct. I'd like for the index page to actually show a certain forum (with the topics, etc.)

Code: Select all

'U_INDEX' => append_sid('index.'.$phpEx),
change that to wherever you want it to point to

Thank you very much, but it's not quite what I'm looking for. Unless it does work, and I'm just doing it wrong.

Index point to specified forum

I've seen this done before, and would like to try it myself.

I want the index of my forum to point to a specific forum. For example, when visiting phpbb.com/phpBB, you'd be directed to "phpBB Support", rather than the index containing all of the forums.

Thanks :)

Best portal/CMS

I've been looking into using a portal/cms for phpbb. I want to integrate it into my website, and use it as a blog-type system. I've got many ideas, but don't know which portal/cms to use. Ezportal looks like my best option so far. Any suggestions?

It can be done in your overall_header.tpl file. Go to templates/yourtemplate/overall_header.tpl

It reads just as an HTML file does, so if you know HTML (which you obviously do), you can add the ad.

Sorry for the triple post, but this MOD is highly needed.

I've finished the theme up. :) If anyone would like to check it out or test it, just let me know and I'll PM it (as I don't want everyone to have it as of yet, given I still need to test it for bugs and what not).
