Re: How are you coping?

I went to an expensive private university, and wouldn't replace the experience or the education for anything.

Spam ethics.

So I've noticed a huge surge in a type of forum spam that I hadn't seen before. It seems a popular new trend for spammers to copy the entire contents of a legitimate post somewhere else on the internet and post it into my forum as if it were there own. They always embed links into it, or into their ...

Re: How to post longer topic titles?

In my own template, I've added a switch so that regular users have the normal phpBB limit, but mods and admins can post titles of an unlimited length. You might want to look into something like that. The switch you could use is... <!-- IF U_ACP || U_MCP --><!-- ENDIF --> It's probably not a good ide...

Re: Is possible to know if a category has unread forums ?

I have not contacted anyone at phpBB directly (is that even possible?) but hopefully someone will spot this topic!

If I figured out a solution or learn any more I'll post an update here.

Re: Is possible to know if a category has unread forums ?

I'm really sorry, I didn't look at the full image.. To be honest, I don't understand why is that different from the previous category, if that works for one it should work for both, I don't see any difference. I'm pretty sure its because the forum does not actually contain any new posts itself, rat...

Re: Is possible to know if a category has unread forums ?

I'm sorry, but it is still not clear to me what happens, because in the image you posted it looks alright, you have a forum with new posts, and the category is registered new as well.. Have you tried to debug on the php to check what is happening ? Some echo's or var_dumps usually help in these sit...

Re: Is possible to know if a category has unread forums ?

Sometime has passed since I looked into this. But tell me, does this happen only with subforums ? or do you have more than 1 subforum and this only happens in a specific one ? Sorry, I think I was a little unclear in what I was saying. Basically, my subforums register their forums as unread, but no...

Re: Is possible to know if a category has unread forums ?

So I did this mod to my own board, and it works great except, oddly enough, it seems that only ONE of my many subforums does not trigger the unread category flag. It's a newer subforum that I created within the past two months - is there some permission or something that I might be missing? Seems od...

Well this worked out super perfect for me. I modified the output a little bit, I think it turned out quite nice :D

Thanks for posting this!

Show non-inline image attachments as files with icon

I'm wondering if there's any sort of switch or something to show non-inline image attachments as a list of files with a file icon I've setup in ACP, in a similar manner to non-image files like ZIP or PDF? So like, if a user places an attachment inline, and it is an image, it shows with thumbnail, bu...

Forumlist - last non-cat row in block?

In forumlist_body.html, I'm trying to style the last forum in each category a specific way. However, <!-- IF forumrow.S_LAST_ROW --> only applies to the very last row of the entire block. Is there a way to target the last forum row inside each category?

Thanks.

Yes, it would require very minimal tweaking. MaxMind's free city finder module is much less reliable than the country module, and may be just a tad little creepy :D

Re: [DEV] TULIP: Tiny User Locator by IP

The "headers already sent" error is usually caused by having white space before or after the opening and closing PHP tags (<?php . . . ?>). Verify you didn't accidentally add some when you changed the functions_tulip.php.

[DEV] iPhone Emoji for phpBB3

iPods, iPhones and iPads allow users to enter "emoji" icons which are special unicode characters the iOS translates into pictures, including smiley faces but also many others (hundreds!) These are quite popular in Japan, and are actually present on many devices there (not just iPhones). You can even...
