Avatar path?

Is there anyway to get a postrow's user's avatar in the form of a path rather than the full <img> tag that is returned by default? I want to use the Avatar as the background-image of a div rather than insert it inline.

Re: [DEV] TULIP: Tiny User Locator by IP

I'm brainstorming a very simple yet sufficient caching system and I've come up with this idea: You'd create a folder in your root phpBB directory named tulip_cache . Then the newly cache-enabled TULIP will check inside that directory for text files in the format of userid _short.txt and userid _long...

Re: Brainstorming - Get unread folders globally?

"unread" refers to whether the user has read it or not, so it would not make much sense to have a global value, since it is different for every user. I mean global as in the ability to access the unread status from any page for the currently logged in user . I'd like, in code, to be able to do some...

Re: [DEV] TULIP: Tiny User Locator by IP

If anyone can suggest a solution to the mass SQL query problem I'm probably more interested than anyone. I guess it depends on your board's traffic and your servers capability to handle it. For me, my server is more than capable of delivering this content quickly, but to be even more efficient about...

Brainstorming - Get unread folders globally?

I'm adding a drop-down menu to my site to list all categories and first-level forums, so you can instantly jump to any of them from anywhere in the site. I sureeee would love to have their little folder icons light up if they contain new posts, just like they do on index.php. However the property fo...

New spin on spam?

I noticed some spam posted to my site this week, the likes of which I hadn't seen before. It is quite clever - it took two days for any moderator to notice it. This spammer registered to my site, selected a topic, quoted the OP's first post, typed up a fairly generic response of "I've been wondering...

Post from third-party app or script

I want to create a script that downloads some timely information (such as an RSS feed) and creates new topics in a forum that I create, under a specific username that I create specifically for these posts. Any ideas how I might achieve this? The last time I tried this myself, by entering data into p...

Re: CSS unordered list menu problem... take a crack?

Actually, I figured out a solution!

I made another class called "normal_tab" and took the float: left; out of it's original position as an <li> tag definition and put it in there. Voila! See it in action here.

Re: CSS unordered list menu problem... take a crack?

Yeah, I know I can do that, and indeed it does work. I should be more specific. I was hoping there was a dynamic solution that didn't need hard-coding of pixels, in case a user's computer has different fonts installed or I change the name of forum categories (which is what are in that menu).

CSS unordered list menu problem... take a crack?

How do I get the "More..." <li> element to be pushed all the way to the right of this box.. so that there is a space between "Control Panel" and the "More..." button?

Any ideas?

Re: Domain-based language (not Control Panel)

Yes, my apologies I re-read my post and see that somehow the latter half of it didn't make it. I know how to check for domain in PHP, but... My question is, where in code is the "language pack" identified and delivered? I figured, perhaps I can modify whatever snippet of code checks for the user's s...

Domain-based language (not Control Panel)

I'm interested in having multiple language versions of my site available but at different domains like en.mydomain.com and de.mydomain.com. So instead of basing the language on whatever a user's settings are it's based on what the domain is. I have several subdomains that mirror a single installatio...

Re: [RC] Tag Cloud 1.0.0

I meant, does this mod already appear on viewtopic.php as-is? That way it'd be much easier to modify than if not.

Re: [RC] Tag Cloud 1.0.0

A question before I download this. Can this be used in viewtopic.php? I'm thinking of modifying it to generate meta keywords.
