As a Moderator the can moderate forums Edit /delete posts. To ban that would require access to the admin panel or installation of one of the Jr. Admin type Mods

Create a group called "Moderators" and in the ACP give that group moderator rights of the forum(s) you want them to moderate. Its that easy and you can add and remove members of that group at will.

It shouldn't ask you for a username/password until after you complete the install and delete the install and contrib directories.

I use it all the time to view users that have not posted or completed the registration and delete them. If someone posts a wed site that is "SPAM" I use it to delete them.

Is your DB.sql very large? (>2Mbytes)

How did you do your backup hopefully not with the ACP. If you still have access to the old DB do a backup with phpmyadmin following these instructions. http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=59

Then try to import it again usijg this new file.

Edit your post to remove your username and password

It looks like you may have just overwritten your forum (fourm) folder with a new install via the CP. You need to verify if they just dropped your DB too.

BTW: Your hosting provider may provide a similar tool via the CP. Mine provides a modded version of phpmyadmin.
