Yeah, there's the first thing - no guest posting.

I'm looking for the same thing with private messages. You might look into running a query where the post_text is like "%spam_word%"

Ahh, that might work. I'll install it and give it a go.

I'm thinking also of the Anti-Spam ACP. Man, this stuff is hard. And not limited to PHPbb, either. I got PM'd with spam on an invision board last week. :evil:

Looking for Mod for the userlist on the ACP

In dealing with the spambots and human spammers, I've been quietly restricting IPs and email addys. Attack? As in a DDOS? Interesting. I wonder. The host hasn't gotten back to me yet, so I'll have to wait until morning.

Board Taken Offline

I am running PHPbb 2.0.11 and today recieved this email from my host. Your forum is using a lot of CPU, and the load of the serve...

Anybody replace site search with google?

Has anybody replaced their PHPbb site search function with a google (or other) search function? I was thinking today how the search is based on word lists. These make the database very big. In addition, some words may overpower the search engine. For example, here on PHPbb.com you can't search for a...

In the usercp_register.php file, there is an assign_vars function around line 45: $template->assign_vars(array( 'REGISTRATION' => $lang['Registration'], 'AGREEMENT' => $lang['Reg_agreement'], "AGREE_OVER_13" => $lang['Agree_over_13'], "AGREE_UNDER_13" => $lang['Agree_under_13'], 'DO_NOT_AGREE' => $l...

Oh, okay: You mean like Dungeons and Dragons! I used to play that in Junior High School...

I remember, we used to have these cool multi-sided dice and neat pewter characters.

Thanks for the info!

What is an RPG Mod?

I've been seeing a lot about RPG mods and many requests for them in the portals. What is one? Can someone provide a description on what it is and how it would be used? I assume it isn't anything to do with what I think an RPG is (Rocket Propelled Grenade). I looked at one of the RPG mods and it says...

Automated Forum-Posting Software???

I saw an ad on another PHPbb site, which led me to a site selling forum posting software. (Do your own google on forum fortune posting... I don't feel like spamming here.) Has anybody used this? On the flip side, has anybody been abused by this? I somehow don't think this is very kosher, as it appea...
