Re: Some blank screens in ACP

Php is being run as a FastCGI application served by Apache and I don't have the option to change that.

Re: Some blank screens in ACP

Using an FTP client I got the message that permission was denied, and trying again with File Manager on the server I got the error "Error occurred during /bin/rm comman". I seem to remember this is something to do with Apache taking ownership of some files and folders - I can't remember wh...

Re: Some blank screens in ACP

Thank you very much - that has worked. :D I wasn't able to delete the twig folder from the cache, but I renamed it and that seems to have been the final necessary thing to do to sort it out. How strange that it should have happened for both forums - I hope this doesn't mean I have other surprises in...

Can ignore post edit time limit

There was a mod for phpBB3.0 that added a permission to allow a group or individual to ignore the post edit time limit set for Registered Users - the mod is here . I would dearly love to have this again on my newly updated phpBB3.1.7pl board - there's going to be a lot of moaning when they realise t...

Re: [SOLVED]Can't log in/out after upgrading 3.0.12 to 3.0.14

For the sake of anyone coming across this when they have a similar problem, I have now discovered what my issue was. It had nothing to do with the upgrade - that was a coincidence of timing. I had edited my .htaccess file - the one in my domain root, not my forum root - shortly before carrying out t...

Re: Can't log in/out after upgrading 3.0.12 to 3.0.14

I've just done a massive backup restore from the server cpanel - restoring the whole domain - and things seem to be OK now.

I haven't yet repeated the upgrade though - I'll give myself a break before attempting it again.

Re: Can't log in/out after upgrading 3.0.12 to 3.0.14

FWIW some people have posted (moderators - the board is still disabled), and it seems that these are members who had the box ticked for 'log me in automatically'. I suspect that, like me, they can't log out though.

Re: Can't log in/out after upgrading 3.0.12 to 3.0.14

I've restored the backup files, but not run the updater again, and I still have the same problem.

Presumably this means the problem is in the database. I have a database backup but it's from a month ago and I'd really rather not use it.

Re: Can't log in/out after upgrading 3.0.12 to 3.0.14

I did update it. I have already tried changing the style to subsilver2 (also updated) and it made no difference.

Edited to add that I've just tried with prosilver too, and the problem is the same.

Re: [BETA] Quick Style

It isn't changing style for me either. When I try to change it it selects the alternative style and tries to load for quite a while, then reverts to PBTech.

I have it working (other than within threads as noted before) on my own forum in the same browser (FF 33.1).

Re: [BETA] Quick Style

I have this installed and running properly on the main index and forum and topic list pages, but if I try to change style from inside a thread I get the following error message: General Error Tried to redirect to potentially insecure url. BACKTRACE FILE: (not given by php) LINE: (not given by php) C...

Re: [BETA] Quick Style

Thank you very much for this - just what I needed. Can I add, for the sake of other people like me who may not have had enough coffee, that you need to make sure that your board is not set to 'override user style' or the dropdown box will not appear! I know it's obvious, but it took me 10 minutes to...
