Re: New Notification Types?

What is the best way to add e-mail notifications for a new notification type as a default to all users? I have added an event trigger to core.user_add_after and added the notifications there, so all new users will get the email notification by default, but what is the best way to add notifications f...

Re: Execute a php file on each new post

Well, if you had said that earlier.... In your message handlers, you get an object as a parameter, $event . In this, you get various variables from the calling script (in your case some script in the MCP I guess, since you want to react to approving posts or topics). In case of core.approve_posts_af...

Re: Execute a php file on each new post

The names of the parameters are defined in yml files. The name of the service is the name you put behind the @ sign. So if you wish to use a service you provided yourself, lets say the class \gn36\myawesomeext\helper and that is defined in your service file as gn36.myawesomeext.helper , you can simp...

Re: Execute a php file on each new post

No, the extension should be executed once each time the event is triggered. I haven't had a look at the events you used - if those are inside a loop (e.g. a loop iterating through multiple posts) then you code will be executed multiple times. It is a worse solution to use global constants there - th...

Re: Execute a php file on each new post

The global variables $to,$subject,$body are not visible within any of your methods below. Therefore you should recieve no E-Mail, because those variables are not defined even if the mail function is called. Instead you should receive a notice at the top of the page right after submission (before the...

Re: double post

No problem. It is not documented so how should you know?

Please do not underestimate Pauls remark: This is an extension which does still need some testing. So please test it thoroughly to see whether it does what you want it to do.

Re: double post

Yes I do think so: I clearly stated it is still in development 2 times. It is a very small extension, consisting of only 3 short files. I intend to finish it shortly and turn it in at the CDB. I do not expect any further changes before I turn it in. Even though it still needs some more testing, it h...

Re: double post

Currently, there are no user settings. You have to edit the ext/phpbbde/denyreply/config/service.yml file to change the time for denying duplicate replies. In this file there is a line phpbbde.denyreply.min_wait_time: 3600 . 3600 is the time in seconds the user has to wait before he/she can add a re...

Re: Remove duplicate entries

Unless you have a way to distinguish which rows you wish to delete, I don't see a way how you could get rid of your duplicates. For this you need some sort of id, which you may just temporarily add to be able to delete the duplicates. After that I would suggest setting a UNIQUE index across all fiel...

Re: Execute a php file on each new post

Create an extension that hooks to the correct event (something like core.posting_xxx_after or so) and then runs your script when it gets triggered.

See: https://www.phpbb.com/extensions/writing/ Focus especially on https://www.phpbb.com/extensions/writing/#a-core-events

Re: Troll Mode

Actually I think banning is the better option. You need to show them the hard way that you don't like what they are doing. But I have seen cases, where banning actually only resulted in a large load of new accounts that also needed to be banned (sadly, accounts are not tied to a users DNA). If banni...

Re: double post

You can Download the zip file and copy the contents of the folder phpbb-ext-deny-double-post-master which is in there to ext/phpbbde/denyreply or you can use git to clone the repository to that directory. Note that this extension has not been tested too much, yet. We tested it before putting it on g...

Re: double post

You could also try https://github.com/phpbb-de/phpbb-ext-deny-double-post It is still in development and therefore is not yet in the Extension DB. It will disable the reply function for one hour after posting as long as the users own post is the last in the topic (so the user can reply right away if...
