Re: Functional phpUnit test fails when executed for sqlite3

I guess this has rested for enough time to bring it back up. I have split up the critical test now, it is still the same part that fails. It seems almost that it doesn't like that I add stuff to the database manually before running the test. I'll take any wild guesses that might help to figure out w...

Re: [RC] gn36 - version check notifier

I have resolved the redirect issue and bumped up the version to release candidate as it has been working for quite some time now without major errors being detected.

I will turn in the extension as soon as the reason for this test failure on sqlite3 databases has been found and resolved.

Functional phpUnit test fails when executed for sqlite3

I am having a little bit of trouble with one of my unittests on sqlite3: https://travis-ci.org/gn36/phpbb-ext-versionchecknotifier/jobs/128191320 As you can see, there is one failing functional test for sqlite3, the last test runs into a timeout. This is the failing test. It fails in line 80 . The r...

Re: setting php minimum version for ext.

This will deny installation, but it won't tell the user why. If you want to tell the user why installation fails, you can do something like this: https://github.com/gn36/phpbb-ext-hookup/blob/master/ext.php#L58 That actually parses the composer.json of its own extension to see what requirements ther...

Re: Is there an API?

To use these functions, you need to be inside phpBB, really. Otherwise a lot of stuff won't work. But you can use a webcrawler, which needs to login, and then can call the posting form and post it. Since all adresses will stay the same, the only things you will need apart from the crawler is the top...

Re: Login code location

phpBB actually understands quite a few different types of password hashes. There is a prefix for each of the types in the passwords column of the user table that denotes what type of password hash is used for that particular user. So you can actually use many different hashes on the same board simul...

Re: PHP Code And Scripts - Easy To Install/Use?

The main question remains what you want to do with this. A pagination is supposed to add links to further pages containing some more details on the same thing - phpBB already has that. Besides that your php script needs to respect how the underlying page is working to be actually useful. Your script...

Re: Letting other extensions plugin to your own extension

Even though this is interfacing from the other perspective, I think this should be added, because the dependent extensions author can use this for interfacing. Classes from other extensions can be used as optional parameters by adding a questionmark in the service.yml file: vendor.ext.myclass: class...

Re: The avatars in notification page

You can find all notifications in phpbb/notification/type . The method get_avatar is responsible for returning the image that is shown beside the notification. So if you know a specific notification that shows the avatar you want, just have a look at the corresponding notification file in that folde...

Re: Accessing YML in migration

There is a base class for container aware migrations. You can extend that class with your migration and will then have the container available in the migration. Just extend /phpbb/db/migration/container_aware_migration with your migration and you can access the container with $this->container

Re: [DEV][TOOL] Mini Support Toolkit

All language packs seems to me a an overkilling for this file. The FAQs in the Support Forum are others. Well, that may simply be because there are international support forums out there. In most cases this error doesn't really break much (unless complete files are missing), so I guess you are righ...

Re: [DEV][TOOL] Mini Support Toolkit

This is a nice idea. I am curious why you check for the docs directory? I don't really see why that would be needed. I would also check for other folders permissions maybe: /cache /store /files /images/avatars/upload Regarding the language files, I think the only way to ensure they are complete is t...

Re: Converting from a custom made UserDB

Actually, converting your passwords should be fairly easy. phpBB supports multiple different algorithms already and adding another one is quite simple, at least assuming that you know how to program the convertor. phpBB itself has used different algorithms in the past for different versions and auto...

Re: Order in modes in UCP Profile

Do not use a fixed numeric parent id. That may be wrong as well, for whatever reasons. I know people who deleted ucp modules from the db back in phpBB 3.0.x which they didn't want their users to use. Re-inserting them will give them different ids. There may be other reasons for a different id as wel...

Re: Use attachments of other users

No, syntax is [img]final/url/of/image[/img] , where final/url/of/image is something like http://example.com/download/file.php?id=102345 . You can get the url by right-clicking on the image and retrieving its address. You can simply use that address in the img tag. The only case this will not work is...
