Re: PHP Email Confirmation?

I basically can only GET and POST from the game engine. I guess I need to read on extensions as you suggest, I have spent 2 days reading about MODS not realizing they are no longer applicable? I don't think that is wasted time. If you want to use this only in your own forum and not publish an exten...

Re: $request-> problems

I would assume the backtrace is useful in this case, to see where it actually came from when it crashes. You should enable debug mode. It seems the request class is not properly initialized, when the user session is started, because it tries to find the global variable $request, which is null. So it...

Re: Migration: set group forum permission to Yes by default

All default role names are in language/en/acp/permissions.php . I don't think it makes sense to set a forum permission for an admin role, nor does it make sense to set a forum permission for a moderator role, but that is precisely what you are doing with your commands. If your permission is supposed...

Re: [RC] Template Events Locations (for developers)

Well, I think creating the files is not that difficult, as long as php has write access to the corresponding extension folder and there is some sort of list of events to create. Instead of an event inside twig, it would also be possible to use an existing PHP event to replace the twig class loaded b...

Re: [RC] Template Events Locations (for developers)

So you would basically suggest a cronjob, that reads a file from some remote server and creates template event files based upon the list it reads itself? Interesting idea, but given that the event files already exist for basically all major events and the additional events get fewer with every relea...

Re: [RC] Template Events Locations (for developers)

Or use composer. That is pretty much why I asked for the addition to packagist. Essentially, that does the same as git, though, at least in this case.

Re: Adding a new custom profile field

If you already know what you need to do in the database, you can simply add a new method to your migration which runs the appropriate queries. You can then add this method to the update_data function in the same way as the create_custom_field method is added in there. So for example, you might simpl...

Re: Adding a new custom profile field

There is a function that is converting data from a column in the users table. If you create a new profile field, you obviously don't have such a column. I didn't realize that the base migration is meant for conversion. So you need to create your own update_data function in your migration, that does ...

Re: [ALPHA] gn36 - Hookup

Should already be the case. I am not sure if my upgrade on this was entirely backwards compatible, so potentially you didn't get the upgrade because of that. If you have users who manually activated it, then the safest way to enable it for all existing users is to run the queries here manually after...

Re: [DEV] gn36 - version check notifier

@gn#36 » may ask you why you got a query cached for 48 hrs (172800, LEADERS)? I guess it is not really necessary since the query is only run once a day anyways, but I thought the founders to be notified would probably not change too often, so I could reuse the data once. Since it is just below 48 h...

Re: Sharing helper class with acp and ucp modules

For ACP and UCP modules, you can simply request your helper class from the phpbb_container : global $phpbb_container; $your_class = $phpbb_container->get('vendor.extname.your.custom.name.from.service.yml'); $your_class->run_code();   You have to define a service named vendor.extname.your.custom.name...

Re: Adding a new custom profile field

The corresponding Page in the ACP does this manually: https://www.phpbb.de/infos/3.1/xref/nav.html?includes/acp/acp_profile.php.source.html#l808 However, there is a base migration that provides a function for exactly this: https://www.phpbb.de/infos/3.1/xref/nav.html?phpbb/db/migration/profilefield_...

Re: [DEV] gn36 - version check notifier

Sorry, I guess my comment was not clear on that: The configuration variable is stored in the config table of your test board. You can access it using any tool you might use to access the database, e.g. phpmyadmin (after that you should clear the cache). If you have command line access, you can also ...

You are not the first to ask this: viewtopic.php?f=496&t=2282641

The only calendar that I know of, which is actively developed is hjws calendar. However, it is not stable.
