PHP4 vs PHP5

Is it worth to migrate to PHP5 for phpBB3? Are there any serious differences for phpBB3 operating?

Thanks.

Re: Custom added item does't displayed ?

Perhaps it would be better to modify function page_header (includes/functions.php) as needed? Just a suggestion :)

Re: No styles on my new page

Hello nanothree,

try to use

Code: Select all

page_header();
instead of

Code: Select all

$template->set_template();

Re: Colourized standart groups

{%:1} means the digit that actually presents in code.
%:1 +1 means that you have to increment the digit by 1.
For example, if you've found rowspan="3", you should change 3 to 4, et cetera.

Re: Attachment management and search issues

I didn't find an answer the question 1 in phpBB3RC3 Administration Control Panel. So this mean it's impossible to manage attachments/see all attachments in use on the board. Sounds bad.

How do I add a custom button

Just try to add a custom button to imageset (localized). 1) Copy custom_button.jpg to styles/prosilver/imageset/en/ 2) Add to styles/prosilver/imageset/en/imageset.cfg string img_custom_button = custom_button.gif*25*50 3) Add to language/en/acp/styles.php string 'IMG_CUSTOM_BUTTON' => 'Custom button...

Re: add local letters in member list?

You can try to do it in a way like this (tested, workable). OPEN language/your_language/memberlist.php FIND 'WWW' => AFTER, ADD 'LETTER_1_UPPER' => 'Place_here_your_additional_letter_1_in_uppercase', 'LETTER_2_UPPER' => 'Place_here_your_additional_letter_2_in_uppercase', 'LETTER_3_UPPER' => 'Place_h...

Yes, It does :)
smithy_dll wrote:using MOD Studio, save as, select "xml" from the filetype dropdown, saves as MODX for phpBB2.
Does it mean that changing phpBB target version to 3.0 directly in generated MODX xml file is not enough it to be MODX for phpBB3? :)
