Re: Modifiying mail headers to include sender's name

Try: {FROM_USERNAME} In /language/en/email/ whatever TXT file. I haven't tested it but I think it will do what you want. The files in that folder are the template files for the body of the emails. I'm looking to find out how to modify the headers of the emails that are sent out so that I can have i...

Modifiying mail headers to include sender's name

Messages sent from phpBB are received like this: from: forums@seibertron.com reply-to: forums@seibertron.com to: My Name <recipient@some-domain.com> What do I need to modify so that it includes the Sender's name for the "from" and "reply-to" fields? from: Seibertron.com Forums <f...

Re: Code to flip new Anonymous account with Admin

You might want to change your topic title. this forum requires a prefix that allows users to quickly see what development stage your MOD is at. You can learn more here: 3.0.x MOD Development Forum Rules Section 3.a Edit: Why would anyone need to revert their user ID to 1? The founder account should...

Re: ProSilver looks great ... but I want it to be standard HTML

I finally converted my website over to using all divs and css for the layout and got rid of all of the cumbersome old school HTML tables. I still need to go through older pages and legacy sections of the website to switch from using tables to divs, but in the meantime, things are loading much faster...

Code to flip new Anonymous account with Admin

I just wrote the following script to revert my user account on my website back to user id #1 after phpBB 3 flipped my user id with the Anonymous user id. This script is not setup to work with your installation of phpBB3 ... but I thought someone might find it useful to make into a script for other p...

Re: ProSilver looks great ... but I want it to be standard HTML

Its just my 2 cents but to me it makes more sense if your going to spend the time recoding something, to recode (upgrade) your website instead of recode (degrade) prosilver. It would be far less work to figure out how to integrate the new phpBB into my website than the other way around. My website ...

Re: ProSilver looks great ... but I want it to be standard HTML

By the official wording in the W3c HTML documentation, tabular layouts were never Traditional or standard HTML. It was only ever, and will only ever be a back created in the 90s to get around layout limitations in HTML before the advent of CSS. If you really want traditional HTML, go back to when i...

ProSilver looks great ... but I want it to be standard HTML

I love how the new ProSilver format looks. Unfortunately, it doesn't want to play nice at all with the style sheet in my website's existing site layout ( http://www.seibertron.com ). Has anyone started working on rewriting the ProSilver templates into standard HTML that using tables instead of divs?...

Re: can't "escape" user control panel

DOH! I just figured out what was the problem. Before you may continue browsing the board you are required to change your password That message should stand out significantly. I didn't even realize that error was on the screen because it's such a smaller font. No warning symbol, no red text, not bold...

can't "escape" user control panel

I successfully setup an installing of phpBB3 today on my Windows apache2triad/php5/mysql5 environment. Everything was working great until I edited my user account through the user control panel. Up until that point, I had been able to go between the ACP and the front end just fine. I had made a coup...

Get the impression that no one knows what we're talking about? I think phpBB should have a forum for advanced users who need support separate from novice users. I don't mean to insult anyone, but it seems that most of the questions in the phpBB Support forum are dealing with things that advance user...

FYI for anyone who cares ... Here's what we've discovered so far: * In config.php, the $dbms variable needed to be updated from "mysql" to "mysql4" since that's what I'm using. * Turned off "Enable GZip Compression" in the admin section. http://www.phpbb.com/support/gui...
