Re: How to handle two small things

Don't feel bad. I did that too once, back before RC1.

Re: General Discussion: Moderator Powers

Hmm...I fear drathburn may be right. I just looked at the tables of a live 2.21 system. The tables only have place for a last edit time and an edit count, in particular no editing user name. So it couldn't be recording a moderator edit. Sorry for the misinformation.

Re: General Discussion: Moderator Powers

On a small, closed (high school reunion) web site that I administer, mods do correct grammar and spelling mistakes when they catch them. This is more or less by agreement, since it happened so many times that people said "oh, sorry, I was tired and I didn't see the spelling error, just go ahead and ...

Re: Why would you remove the Powered by phpBB text?

I'm in a slightly different situation. I run a closed board (a high school reunion web site). Only the front page, the register page and the login page are visible until you log in. On these pages, I removed the powered by line, since I could show from our logs that people were finding us through go...

Re: The internet and the older generation

Gosh, what an interesting question. From the mid '70s, for the next 12 years, I worked at the University of Toronto. No doubt drawn by my interest in computers, near the end of that time my parents bought a computer at work in order to try out this new fangled idea, Computer Assisted Design, using s...

Re: [2.0.19] L-C-R IMG And Text Alignment BBcode

I wish, for bbcode mods, the authors would list what the resultant output html is for a bbcode. In this case, if text is the original text, the mod generates <div align=left> text </div> (substitute center and right for left, as appropriate). For most browsers, <div></div> generates a line break bef...

Re: Multiple types of quote buttons

Pardon?
In that thread, it was suggested that I was in the wrong thread, so I started a new one here, and back and forward pointed, and deleted the posting in the original thread.

Multiple types of quote buttons

This suggestion was started here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=368370&p=2922512#p2922512 but moved. I don't know if this is the right place to make this comment, but it seems to tie in. If there's a better place, please feel free moderators to move it appropriately. I think th...

Yes, that was a disappointment for me too. I just uninstalled it. Then I looked more carefully at what the generated code was. I believe it's fixable. I need to go find a CSS reference to be sure.
