ModX multiple xml files in the root '/'

6.5.1. The Root '/' Directory The root directory (most top-level directory) must contain a single MODX installer file and the MODX XSL style sheet. The MODX file must have the file extension .xml, but may have any file name. The XSL file must have the official name given to the current version of t...

Re: [DEV]Post Rating System

More people have had this problem, but all have worked it out.

Can you see if the html contains the relevant parts?
Can you see if the css contains the relevant parts?
Can you see the star is you manualy look them up?

Re: License/conflict • MOD's with a possible 3'rd party license

I'm going to ask this lawyer that I know, because I disagree. Let me see if I get all the arguments straight: 1. I copied several lines of code into the xml files 2. The code calls phpbb specific functions. Anything else? iEric said "When doing a MOD". I assumed this was about releasing the code, no...

Re: License/conflict • MOD's with a possible 3'rd party license

The goal of the GPL is to grant everyone the freedom to copy, redistribute, understand, and modify a program. If somebody doesn't release their changes to a GPL program under the GPL, this would not grant everybody the right, because due to the license you would be limited. So i don't have the feel...

Re: [DEV]Post Rating System

You could check if the 'display' setting is set to 'hidden'. I wouldn't copy the HTML from prosilver but create new HTML based on subsilver. Then you be less likely to run in to this kind of problems. HTML reference http://www.htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/olist.html CSS reference (1.0 and 2.0) http...

Re: License/conflict • MOD's with a possible 3'rd party license

The goal of the GPL is to grant everyone the freedom to copy, redistribute, understand, and modify a program. Forcing board people to only modify there privet copies when the code is released under GPL limits that freedom. This would contradicts there goal. 2. You may modify your copy or copies of t...

Re: License/conflict • MOD's with a possible 3'rd party license

Just because they are released separately doesn't mean they do not depend on the core. If they depend on phpBB's core code in any way, they need to be under the GPL, simple as that. That is kind of a dull statement. I get the feeling that you just repeat what has already bin stated. I just don't be...

Re: License/conflict • MOD's with a possible 3'rd party license

The mod contains instructions to change some code. The writer of the mod doesn't change those files or need to publish the changed files. It kind of getting a book on painting and then having the author say you can't sell you paintings because your using knowledge from the book. I just don't see how...

Re: License/conflict • MOD's with a possible 3'rd party license

phpBB is released under the GNU General Public License v. 2 (GPL v2 or GPL in this documentation) which states, in simple terms, that if a script requires another script that is released under the GPL v2, then that script also needs to be released under the GPL v2. Most modification require phpBB t...

Re: [DEV]Post Rating System

I can't do that. The term rate and vote mean two different things. A rating is the average som of all votes cast. I'm option to suggestion about another word. (Reset score does the same thing. Need to look at that do)

Re: [DEV]Post Rating System

except for a couple of non-find's it all looks pretty good. Somehow I was missing .MOD parent, well, so I just parented to System. All the controls seem to be working. PHP 3.0.1. is officially not supported jet. I plan to test it and then update. I can also included your comments a onsupported new ...

Re: [DEV]Post Rating System

When you run in to that kind of a problem its likely that I made some changes. If it happens try it again a day later. In this case: I made some changes to the forum code. It should be fine now. But when you do run in to this kind trouble again than it handy to know the exact time, so I can look in ...
