I have only 128 users on my board and 29949 posts, and massmail and restore reports this error. I can send successfully to only 30 users in a group

Uses phpBB3 mysql_pconnect or mysql_connect, also non persistent connections?

I have error on massmail (SMTP) and restore function.

MySQL server has gone away [2006]

My host telling me to try non persistent connections, but I can't find any option for this.
