Ok, so I installed Gabby on my forum with great hesitance after reading some of these threads because much of my user base are very young and I was concerned about some of the language I have in the brain files and topics dealing with drugs and such. She has been doing well though and I am very impr...

Noahk, That is beginning to look like what I had in mind. Yhis only shows in the users profile though, right? I would be completely lost on trying to adapt this as a replacement for the post count on the topic view pages. Also, I am certainly no expert but your mod syntax looks very good. At least I...

Thanks Noahk, I dont really understand what this is doing though. Does it count the words in a post or all of the words ever posted by that person. Also where would this appear in the forum, as a replacement for the post count? What I would like is for the post count to be replace by a word count. I...

Funny the things you dig up while searching. I had forgotten I had looked here for this before... ahhh... well looks like it is not going to happen here. I shall spend some time looking elsewhere to see if interest for this has come up..

Thanks anyway, and looking forward to phpBB 2.2

I too would like to see something like this. In fact I found this thread while searching here to see if someone has done it. I have applied quite a few mods to my forum but lack the skills to write my own. deszaras, to answer your question for my part at least. I would like for it to count the words...

I used Rebuild Search Index on my phpBB 2.0.6 board. The installation couldnt be easier, just copy the two files to the proper directories and it shows up in the Admin Panel of your forum. I did replace the default 100 with 25 in the admin_rebuild_search.php to slow it down a little. My new host has...

Does bigdump make any queries? My host has a 36,000 questions per hour limit but they say INSERTs do not count towards that limit. I am not so sure though and unfortunately I dont have a clue as to what the code is saying. I have a 98 MB dump with 1/3+ Million lines in it. I have been having fits tr...

I am looking for the same type of solution but for a different reason. I cannot backup my database because my connection keeps breaking before the 40 or so MB can come down the pipe. I have a 2.0.3 forum that has close to 1,000 users and 40k posts. I added a 2.0.6 forum to the site in the same datab...

Word count mod

Does anyone know of a mod that will display a users word post count?

I know more isnt always better but I have found as a rule on my forum that many of those with high post counts post lots of one liners yet those who post informative and often lengthy messages may have lower post counts.

Thanks, w3

Thoul I did this as suggested and it worked but after posting it reverted back to the default order making it very confusing for my users. I have also come to the conclusion that in order to acceptable across the userbase it will have to be user selectable. I started a mod request topic on this here...
