Moving right along (this is not a Constitutional issue, so let's get away from that line of discussion), I just wanted to note a few things about the way ratings are dealt with here in the US. The ESRB has no actual power. However, it is a policy of the largest game retailers in the US to only carry...

Re: :(

That's just ridiculous. The notion that some third party plugin, which has nothing to do with how something like tabs is handled, is what gave them problems is just absurd (at least, the degree to which the blame third party plugins is absurd). Several types of plugins and extensions along with the...

Re: :(

Microsoft wouldn't take the chance of tracking each website someone visits and the privacy policy probably states they won't. Sure they would. Such a great chance for their search servers to adjust rankings and correlations. There's a difference between tracking what websites people visit and what ...

Re: Sol

Still, I'd consider it to be a true name for the sun and not just some, as was said, "rpg" name for it. It might not be an official name in English, but should not be considered to be a false name either. That's like saying that Mars is only "Mars" in English. "Sun" is the officially assigned and r...

Just wanted to let you all know that Paul Thurrott, one of the biggest Microsoft fanboys in the world, is calling for a boycott of IE . Regardless, Wilson's post is also disappointing to Web developers, because Microsoft will fail to fully support the latest CSS standard in IE 7. Instead, IE 7 will ...

Re: :(

I am concerned, however, that they might build up statistics and use IE much like SpyWare. I know the Phishing thingy can be disabled, but I don't think most users (e.g. Grandpa and Grandma) will turn it off. Perhaps it's just me, but I don't understand this concern, either. Google tracks statistic...

I've heard that these so-called planets are actually just abnormally large asteroids from the outer asteroid belt, and as such can't really be classified as planets. It'll be interesting to see whether they're appended to the list of the planets in our solar system or not. The planet in question is...

The Earth's name is "Earth". Notice the capitalization. Similarly, the Moon's name is "Moon", the Sun's name is "Sun", and our Solar System's name is "Solar System". By giving these common designations to our planet, moon, sun, and solar system, it reinforces their importance and recognizes them as ...

Re: :(

as if anyone actually trusts the privacy policies the simple fact that soemone can view any url go to is alarming to me, lets say some crazy person in america decides to use M$ superb new tool of spying, they watch out for anyone visiting "suspicious" sites, you accidentaly end up on something terr...

Re: :(

Ok, time to disable half the new features in IE in order to keep using it. :) 1) Tabbed browsing annoys me as much as opening folders in the same window. I don't know how anyone lives without tabbed browsing. I usually have one window with more than ten sites loaded into tabs. 2) M$ URL tracking (p...

I do: .NET 2.0 will be in there by default. As I've said in an older post, I'm looking forward to that. That plus WinFX, doesn't get better for developers, and I'm sure customers will like it. ... @Heimidal: sorry, can't help it, but what about those at least 5 million different computer programs t...

I'm with Darth Wong when it comes to being underwhelmed. I see nothing listed as a feature that isn't already in OS X (and, for the most part, has been since 2001).

Not to shabby, I personally like it better then google.

Their satellite information is wildly outdated in some places (sometimes up to ten years old). And in my opinion, Google Map's new Hybrid view beats it hands down.

Ther'es a fairly old, full size GMC truck in the garage for which we pay about $1200 a year on insurance. According to Blue Book, it is worth about $2500. The insurance that has been payed on it in its lifetime is over the initial starting value of the vehicle. No one in the household has had a wre...
