Re: MySQL = 100mb, in real terms how many postings?

I'm at around 21,000 posts on my board, which currently has a 59 MB database. At this rate, I'll reach 100 MB with only 35,600 posts or so.

It very much depends on the length of posts made.

Re: [ALPHA] Ultimate Quiz MOD Lite 2.0.0

Just wanted to throw a bit more encouragement in there for that Full Version. :) I think this would be great for my board!

Regarding the statistics you mentioned earlier, what did you have in mind for it?

Re: [BETA] Country Flags 0.8.0

'lang' => basename(request_var('lang', $user->lang_name)), If I'm not mistaken, that's the code you're looking for. The basename() function was added in RC2, which was released after this MOD was developed, hence the code difference. The MOD works great on RC2, though, so don't let minor variations...

Re: BBCode List

BBCode:

[wikipedia]{TEXT][/wikipedia]

HTML:

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/{TEXT}">{TEXT}</a>

Easy.

Or, to account for languages:

BBCode:

[wikipedia={TEXT1}]{TEXT2}[/wikipedia]

HTML:

<a href="http://{TEXT1}.wikipedia.org/wiki/{TEXT2}">{TEXT2}</a>

Re: PhpBB 88px logo

I agree that "for good reasons" is a bit vague; however, I have altered my footer to read as the following: The Fellowship Hall Christian Forums © Rick Beckman, Jr. • Posted content © respective users<br /> Powered by <a href="http://www.phpbb.com/">phpBB</a>, © the phpBB Group &...

Re: PhpBB 88px logo

The issue is not only do you need the word "phpBB" and a backlink, you need it in a way that says phpBB is copyright to the phpBB Group (important part highlighted). Not to be picky, but the rule quoted above emphasizes the "powered by phpBB" part, not the copyright part. I've had "powered by phpBB...

Re: Template Switches based on Usergroup?

I'd prefer not to edit the PHP if it can be avoided... Being able to do all the usergroup ID juggling in the template itself would be very beneficial. I would think the variables would already be set -- they're necessary for permissions. I could be wrong, though.

Re: Template Switches based on Usergroup?

[edited to this:] Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Setting a specific group just causes it to disappear for everyone. Here's what I'm doing: <!-- IF group_id == 5 --><!-- IF postrow.S_FIRST_ROW or postrow.S_ROW_COUNT > 5 and postrow.S_LAST_ROW --> <!-- INCLUDE viewtopic_ads.html --> <!-- ENDIF --><!-...

Re: Template Switches based on Usergroup?

LOL. And then what would fill in group_id? consider the typical user will belong to several groups... Presumably, it would be something along the lines as, "If the user is a member of this group, then do this..." regardless of other groups he or she may be a part of. I may be wrong. How do arrays w...

Template Switches based on Usergroup?

I tried searching but came up with only a mini-MOD for phpBB2 from like 2005... I have ads in my viewtopic pages, but I'd like to hide them from users who belong to a specific usergroup. I couldn't find any documentation for the new template and what variables may be used in switches -- I'm sure I'v...

Akismet Integration

I searched the phpBB 3 MOD forums for "Akismet," but all I got was a reference I made in another thread, so I'm happy to be the first to request this... I would like to see a MOD which adds Akismet protection to phpBB. There were several starts to a full Akismet MOD for phpBB 2, but none that I came...

LastPerson: I had the same problem; I solved it when I realized I had forgotten to upload the image. Once I did, it worked perfectly.
