Okay, looking harder it looks like the hacker got all up in the database, so I'm gonna have my ISP restore from a backup. Ugh. Thanks anyway.

Would you happen to know the cron job or a phpbb mod that would do nightly backups to a directory on the web server?

Ah yes, will subscribe to that. Thanks. So the phpbb_forum table is empty, but the message table isn't. I tried inserting the tables from a previous backup, but that didn't work. The forums appear but no messages display when you click on them. I checked the config file and the settings are o...

hacked! data in phpbb is deleted, but still in database!

hey all, was running 2.0.11 and was hacked. Gotta be more on top of that, maybe phpbb can have a mail list to notify us of a new release, but I digress. Anyway, we were hacked. Forums deleted, admin account trashed, etc etc. I was able to recover the admin by going into PhpMyAdmin and rebuild most o...

Hey, can someone look at my htaccess? I already have some redirect stuff to block people from hotlinking my images, and I don't want this code to conflict with that. Is it right to turn it on twice, doesn't seem so, but otherwise how does it know its a different rule? Thanks! ErrorDocument 500 /inde...

I suggest you take a look here: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=135383 Thanks for the link! I actually have taken a look there, but is that information valid to me since my site averages 20 posts a day, and thats for sites with 50k a day? seems like the same methods wouldn't work. **UPDA...

I've also noticed that even on pages that say only .5 second to load, it still takes 10 seconds or so for the page to load and display, where non phpbb pages will never take that long

hey,

thanks for your help and the code! i'm guessing I need to put both blocks into < script > containers, cause otherwise it will come through as straight text... I tried putting them in the containers and the code for the print line doesn't generate, it remains code.

hmmm, very interesting observation, I didn't even notice that. even on some topic threads when they load slow seem to be the majority of the percent to php. page generation time checkpoints? is there a tutorial on that somewhere? perhaps I'll just comment out some of my mods and see if that speeds a...

Hey, I've switched to phpBB a few years ago, and its been great. can't complain love the program. However recently the database has been crawling, taking way to long to load pages. I deleted alot of old posts to less than the number it had when it was running fast, and it's still slow. I tried email...

Okay, I replaced includes/page_header.php with an original file and that seems to have done the trick. But I am still curious why it happened..

header missing out of no where!

hi, I run a board www.knightrideronline.com/phpbb Everything was running great. Today I tried adding Topic Anywhere, which I thought doesn't affect any files, but it must have. I have removed Topic Anywhere and I have replaced my admin files, and my overall header template with originals, but the He...

Which is weird, because according to greenwichmeantime.com, it's only 1:30 in the UK. Which is also weird, cause its happening here to. NYC used to be GMT -5, now it's GMT -4, cause it says I posted at 7:55, when in reality it was 8:55 NY time.

btw: buffy forum, nice!

GMT dropped an hour?

I live in NYC, and thats where my board is served from. We used to be -5 GMT, checking today, the board was an hour off, and according to greenwichmeantime.com my board should be set at -4? I know how to change the GMT for the board, so thats not the question. The question is why. Did GMT go into so...
