Re: General Error when creating new topics / PM'ing

No, the script gave errors because it tried to modify columns that MySQL asserted did not exist.

Re: Hide my online status this session on forum index

To do this, you will need to modify the template.
Alternatively, you could remove the "Can view online users" permission from the "Registered Users" and "Guests" groups.

Re: How to Give Registered Users Permission to Search

To clarify, a user needs both the "Can search the board" permission enabled and the permission to search the individual forums on the board. You can also use the "Trace permissions" feature to see if anything is interfering.

I don't think they mean uploads in phpBB.
How can you upload an avatar with an extension like .php? It just won't be allowed.

Re: Hiding default adminpanel for phpBB

The video explains nothing to me. What exactly do you suspect him of doing? What do you mean, "protected" a directory? Do you know who is "hacking" you? Have you changed your FTP password as well as your CPanel password? Edit Okay, I Googled this "C99 shell script". It seems to be just a script. I d...

Re: General Error when creating new topics / PM'ing

Goodness knows how you've lost these columns. Try executing the following SQL statements, which will re-create the fields. I suggest you back-up first, of course. ;) ALTER TABLE phpbb_groups ADD COLUMN group_max_recipients mediumint(8) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL; ALTER TABLE phpbb_profile_fields ...

Re: Discuss: Blog post about phpBB 3.0.6 plans

Naturally it will be cached (though some people like to leave reams and reams of static script in their HTML files), but it will have to be pulled down every so often, of course. It would also have to be executed by the browser's scripting engine, and sometimes that can take a few CPU cycles. I'm no...

Re: Robots.txt to block post123.html

The Google bot should not see a version of the index page that offers duplicate links. Check to see what your website looks like in Google's cache. If necessary, you can modify your template style so that bots do not see duplicate links.

Re: "Search" Issues

This may take some time, and I'm not guaranteeing that it'll fix your problem. Go to the Administration Control Panel, click on the Maintenance tab. On the left hand side, choose Search index. Delete your existing index and then re-create the same index as before. It may take some time (like, a few ...

Right, what does it look like? Did the phpBB installer not notice that you were trying to install to the same database with the same table prefix?

Re: "Who's Online" Guest Downloading files

Search Robots try to probe every link on your board. If there are attachments in any posts they can see, they will try to download them, and just see the "you are not authorised to perform this action" message. That is exactly what the "According to viewonline a user is doing/reading something they...

Re: Session / Cookie problem (PHP 5.3.0 ??)

A potential security flaw in that you have no control over the value of that $_COOKIE['...'] variable, and phpBB will expect it to have been sanitised by request_var(). Does it work if you hard code the cookie name into the request_var(...) function call instead? Are you sure the configuration value...
