Re: CAPTCHA

The latest files are phpBB 3.0.5; your file version is phpBB 3.0.4.

Re: Poll required to start new topic

I'm an idiot. The SQL statement I gave you probably undid the script's work; it specifies "NOT NULL", which was your problem in the first place. Run the following SQL statement. ALTER TABLE phpbb_topics MODIFY COLUMN poll_title varchar(255) DEFAULT '' NULL; Weirdly, (and this is why I'm perhaps not ...

Re: Poll required to start new topic

And you have the same error? What did the query say when you ran it?

Can you post the results of--

Code: Select all

SHOW COLUMNS FROM phpbb_topics
LIKE 'poll_title';

Re: SQL Issue:New members can't register/some users can't log in

I assume you mean that the users are now experiencing an error as though they had typed the username or password incorrectly, rather than an SQL error? If you are using phpMyAdmin, you can open the table phpbb_users. Inspect the rows manually -- are the user names properly stored in the database? It...

Re: MySQL and Depriciated Code

Oh... I didn't think of old versions. Is that really necessary? Couldn't you just require a newer version? I wouldn't think anyone would have a problem with that since it is open source and free. Except that most phpBB installations are hosted on shared servers, where other users of the server woul...

Re: Discuss: Blog post about phpBB 3.0.6 plans

@Roberdin: I assume you are referring to the Quick Reply, it's extremely light (only a couple lines of JS), and yes, it is cross-browser compatible, and no, it is not a WYSIWYG editor. It's just a simple textarea in viewtopic.php Yes, I should have made that clear; I was talking about 'QuickReply' ...

Re: Can't delete posts, correct permissions.

Fair enough. How fresh (latest version fresh)?

You could try replacing the posting.php file on your server with one from a new installation package. If that doesn't work, and no one has any further suggestions, I can help you to do some more invasive detective work?

Re: Can't delete posts, correct permissions.

Did you try re-installing phpBB as described? You mentioned a "cash mod", perhaps that interfered with something.

Do you have any other users to whom you could give moderator permissions, for testing purposes?

Re: CAPTCHA

So you have an old database version but the latest phpBB version?

Try running install/database_update.php.

Re: SQL Issue:New members can't register/some users can't log in

Execute

Code: Select all

ALTER TABLE phpbb_users
      ALTER COLUMN user_last_confirm_key
      SET DEFAULT '';
Assuming that your table prefix is phpbb_.

Re: Why do I have to keep logging in? Firefox

How much time do you spend on forums at work? ;)

You could try disabling the IP session validation in ACP > General > Server Configuration > Security settings. (Set it to "None", or "A.B".) If that works, then see if you can enable the X_FORWARDED_FOR header to re-implement some additional security.

Re: Fatal Error

It now appears that you are missing a huge number of files, at least, in the ./language/ folder. Are you sure that you uploaded them all correctly?

I don't have that in my copy of the file. Did you change or edit the index.php file at all?
