true SEO can be important for search result placement. however, the thing that phpbb-seo provides is mainly just "human friendly urls" . that has no real effect on search engine placement at all. also, if you are not selling anything on your site then spending much time and/or money on real SEO is ...

You would need to ask your hosts to turn that on.
