Re: [DEV] phpBB spam hammer

I've got a "Link whitelist" issue... it's not really a 'bug" but more of a usability issue that was revealed when I was combing the log results. As an example, I have the link http://domain.com in the whitelist. A new user/guest posts a message relating to that site but just puts domain.com in the p...

Re: [DEV] phpBB spam hammer

I updated the install package as you posted DP. http://www.skidvd.co.uk/files/disable_links_words_spam_0.0.2.zip It includes the r744 class, but not the above extreme version. Can you clarify your post a bit, what edits need to be done for the extreme version? Cheers. I was just looking at this and...

Re: [DEV] phpBB spam hammer

*Are all the language strings stored in functions_link_filter.php? I'd like to edit some of these but it could be tiresome if they need ed-edited every time this file is updated. For the user yes, but the ACP strings are in the ACP file. I think the correct way to customize the strings is to add th...

Re: [DEV] phpBB spam hammer

As long as I was not asking you, you should not worry about it. If they say no i understand, it wouldnt be a problem. I read your other posts talking about recaptcha and your forms of anti-spam if i were you i would test their mod and give them feedback for THEIR mod not your opinion of your past e...

Re: [DEV] phpBB spam hammer

No one said this was an issue caused by spam hammer just asked for a fix im sure i am not the only one with a diff quick reply. Yeah, but your suggestion of a fix was for SH to disable the quick reply box altogether, and all on account of another unofficial bit of code, when it could probably be so...

Re: [DEV] phpBB spam hammer

Also since I am using a diff quick reply how about remove the quick reply box for users that dont have atleast two posts? How can we do that since I am not sure how to stop the spam from users using quickreply. How about we don't? I don't mean to be rude but if you're using another mod that causes ...

Another issue... I left the Filter Help Link empty in ACP but the antispam message in UCP/Profile is still pointing to http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/vi ... 886#p17886

Re: [DEV] phpBB spam hammer

Okay, just installed this.... getting ready to give it a test... I have a few questions/comments. *In the installation instructions for editing /includes/acp/acp_board.php part of the new code includes adding 'legend3' but there is already a 'legend3' just below the area to add the new text in quest...

Re: [DEV] phpBB spam hammer

2: I found the 73 character minimum first post to be a little too restrictive, and edited it manually in the class. Maybe something that could be set in the admin panel? Ahh, glad you noticed that. I probably would have had a few guest posters be none too pleased with that minimum (Twitter and Face...

Re: [RC] Disable links for new users & guests

Lucky :) We get hundreds of spam registrations per day. If I waited this long there would be 50-100 thousand zombie registrations in the database taking up space and compute cycles ;) I used to get a horrid volume level of spammer/zombie registrations and posts but reCaptcha and a custom profile fi...

Re: [RC] Disable links for new users & guests

Another question.... what does 'disable sleeper agent' do and how? It sounds like it's tied to minimum days from registration but I don't understand why... If I have minimum days set to '3' and a user has not made a regular post in their first 3 days, then what happens? They can't modify their sig, ...

Re: [RC] Disable links for new users & guests

Updated to version 0.0.3 Minor changes in the text, to reflect that this mod only disables external links, and added some new domain references to be blocked. Link to the updated download is in the original post. Thanks for the update! I just noticed, in the instructions, in the DIY section it says...

Re: [Release] Aero (phpBB 3.0.8)

Is a ProSilver variant of this style still planned? I seem to recall it stated that version 1.4 would be a ground up rewrite?
