Re: vBulletin better than phpBB ?

Well, just glancing at the error you can see it's about authentication. You may need to contact your host and see if they can change how you authenticate your SMTP connection, as it appears they want it done a specific way. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Noxwizard, I'm using the correct passw...

I've a feeling the pro...

I've had 99 views since I posted this on the 13th and only 1 reply (and that was mine :? ) I presume I'm on my own with this or is there some place where I can post a question and someone will answer it. Here's something you could try, seems to have helped me.
In the ACP under the "General"tab go down to "Load Settings" and increase the hell out of the "Session Length", I've mine set to 21600 seconds.

Maybe it was only coincidence, but it seemed to help.

Well, not only does Firefox improve the authorization/re-authentication issue but it also solved the Avatar refresh problem.
I've stopped using IE now.

I wish I could learn about this phpBB stuff faster though.

Re: To administer the board you must re-authenticate yourself

I think it must be an "undocumented feature", having said that, it is only a minor inconvenience.

Just curious, what Browser do you both use ?

Re: Account Activation/Registration E-Mail Problems

This is partly a bump and also a wish-list, is there someone out there with a goood enough understanding of the code used to create phpBB who could provide an all inclusive package that would completely set up email notification, including POP3 and SMTP servers etc. I'd pay money for that. It'...

Re: To administer the board you must re-authenticate yourself

Re: No avatar after posting

Again, no. Avatars work fine here and on all other installations we use for testing. There are no known bugs with them and thus there were no changes for the gold version. I'm willing to take a look, but this is almost certainly an issue on your server(s) and/or browser(s). Thanks for the reply, I ...

Re: No avatar after posting

After I submitted a post (in forum and PM) and get redirected to the topic, the avatars dont show anymore... I know it has something to do with updating from RC7 to RC8. I did the update manually because the auto updater didnt work due to many MODs i have installed. I'm having the same problem, Ava...
