Re: Sensitive Data in Querystring

Fixing incorrect cookie settings

However, phpBB doesn't just blindly trusts the query string. It checks for other parameters (browser, ip,) to verify the session. Therefore you can't simply highjack a session with just the SID.

Re: Installation Compatibility

Contact your host with regards to these server settings, PHP 4.3.3 is outdated and no longer supported by the php group your host should provide an upgrade path to PHP 5.3.x (if not, then it might be sensible to start looking for a different host ;)) Don't tell me that register_global has to be turn...

Re: Undefeatable Captchas and security measures

1. Did you look at the OCR proof one? I really don't think an OCR could get through that because of the objects floating by it as well as fading in and out. As with all captcha's, as soon they get popular enough they will be cracked. Bots can be programmed to solve captcha's a human won't be able t...

Re: special characters don't work (\n, \t, ...)

No problem :), phpBB is a bulletin software package written in php. We however can't provide support for the language itself, unless the question is related to the phpBB code (and/or extending it) . For general php questions there are better communities that are specifically aimed towards general co...

Re: FBI wants phpBB to have a backdoor

If they want your information they'll go straight to your host, if you don't want t...
