Cookie problems? Can't reach ACP? Only works in Opera?

http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/fixing-incorrect-cookie-settings/ In particular, for all examples, it says: Cookie domain: .example.com (Note the dot at the beginning!) Cookie name: cookiename_example (This can be anything what you want, make it original.) Cookie path: / (Note that this is always a ...

Re: [beta] Google Plus One +1

Also, why would the +1 be in the post, as its based off the url/topic? Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing - all the +1 mods/contribs seem to have the same problem. They all seems to +1 the TOPIC, rather than the actual post, which is what is actually needed. I was thinking some jquery could be adde...

Picasa and Flickr with albums and lightbox bbcode

Thanks to the help here and various other places, I now appear to have a functioning system for posting picasa and flickr albums. You need this javascript http://pastebin.com/ZTyBreaR and the bits and pieces mentioned. Then you need the following bbcodes: For flickr tagged pictures: BBCode usage [fl...

Re: Unique ul id in a BBcode WITHOUT touching the template?

Big thanks to the help here and various other places, I now appear to have a functioning system for posting picasa and flickr albums. My main struggle was the realisation that jquery's $(this) didn't mean "this place where the code is". I'll copy this to the custom bbcodes post too, but if anyone's ...

Re: Unique ul id in a BBcode WITHOUT touching the template?

It was a suggestion for you to be able to get a unique id from a post. I'm not completely sure what you are trying to do with flickr Post a tagged photostream. Like http://www.flickr.com/photos/lesdray/tags/icicles/ Ignore the flickr part - that's working fine; the one and only problem I am having ...

Re: Unique ul id in a BBcode WITHOUT touching the template?

$("div[id*='p']").each(function(){ var id = $(this).attr('id').replace('p',''); }); :?: Not sure I follow - did you mean $("div[id^='p']") in which case I get the div ID's with names like page-header turned into age-header, and of course the post numbers, but I'm not entirely sure what I'm meant to...

Unique ul id in a BBcode WITHOUT touching the template?

I made some BBcode for phpBB to allow users to post flickr pics with certain tags. Each photo div in the thread needs to be unique, and the images load when the thread is loaded. In any other case, I could use the {URL} to make the ul element EXCEPT for the fact that jquery doesn't like the colon (:...

Re: MySQL Full Text indexes on posts table - any other optio

Ah, right, that's what I was after - that it's safe to drop the index without future problems. Thank you - question answered! :) As AmigoJack pointed out, you can switch your search index to Fulltext Native which does not require the fulltext indexes on the posts table. In the Administration Control...

Re: MySQL Full Text indexes on posts table - any other optio

I speak reasonably good English and I saw no specific question regarding not using the search options in phpBB. Keep this in mind http://www.phpbb.com/rules/#rule4h Why not just disable the search. Just disabling the phpbb search doesn't remove the full text index from that column in the phpbb data...

Re: MySQL Full Text indexes on posts table - any other optio

Please understand that this is a phpBB support board, not a DBMS (or more specifically: MySQL ) support board. MySQL documentation is available here . phpBB comes with a native search which you can activate in your ACP. Hi Amigojack - I can see you're in a foreign country (Green Hill Zone, wherever...

MySQL Full Text indexes on posts table - any other option?

I wanted to try offloading the database into the cloud from my poor underpowered VPS. I found a service called Xeround which is currently in free beta. Looked great, except... It doesn't allow full text indexes. If I run the following code, I can see where the problem is: SELECT TABLE_SCHEMA, TABLE_...

Re: Custom BBCodes

I'd like users to be able to embed the PIcasa Gallery Jquery Plugin: http://plugins.jquery.com/project/EmbedPicasaGallery We're already loading jquery and head.js in the head, so all I'd need to do would be have some kind of bbcode that the user could wrap around their picasaweb gallery. When the li...

Did a straight DB move, now quotes show strange characters

Simple move - mysql export, zip board, move the whole lot to new server, unzip board, mysqlimport, done! All was working well until people started to notice posts BEFORE the move have strange characters. For example: "The Attorney General’s Annual Fraud Indicator report of January 2010 states that...
