Of course, that makes perfect sense, thank you.

Re: Links not opening in new window after upgrade to 3.10

Where should I start? Did you apply the code changes to all your installed styles? Can you switch to a different style to see if it works? I did wonder about that, but all of the styles behaved the same way I'd suggest removing the code from that article, in some circumstances it can cause issues. ...

Links not opening in new window after upgrade to 3.10

That's pretty much it, really - the forum was a clean install of 3.09 and I had to make the changes detailed here http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/links-opening-new-windows to get links to open in new windows which all worked nicely. Since the upgrade however, the links have reverted back to their sl...

Re: Upgrade - uploading modified files archive via ftp

Kevin. I bloody love you :D

Thank you for holding my hand. It sometimes irritates the hell out of me when I seemingly can't do things, but phpbb is a fascinating learning curve, even if I do have to learn through trial and error.

The kids say thank you, too! :D

Re: Upgrade - uploading modified files archive via ftp

Could you take two bored kids off my hands while I do this, too?? Right. Backup was made before I started any of this, I've downloaded the full package and unpacked it - just to be entirely clear, without worrying about anything else I've done today, I need to upload everything except for config.php...

Re: Upgrade - uploading modified files archive via ftp

I can't get off the check file page though...oh wait...have you already told me how to do this and I've just entirely ignored you??

As the files are already there, do I just need to go to "Go to yoursite.com/forumfolder/install/database_update.php" and stop faffing about?

Re: Upgrade - uploading modified files archive via ftp

I'll bear that in mind for next time, but this is driving me crazy - I'm uploading the files, rechecking them, and it's still coming up with those same three problems, but with slightly subtle differences each time - as if the board is taking tiny bites at a time instead of swallowing the folders wh...

Re: Upgrade - uploading modified files archive via ftp

I did the backup; I've made that mistake before and won't be making it again  I did put a new style on for them and a new banner which I suppose is why it's throwing this up (is it?) : Modified files The following files are modified and do not represent the original files from the old version....

Thanks Kevin, I thought it would probably be ok, but it's somebody else's board and I'm doing a favour for a friend

Ok, here goes!

Upgrade - uploading modified files archive via ftp

Sorry, newbie question  - but given that the update process kindly provides me with a file map, does this mean that I have to upload each file individually, or can I do it by folders and will it sort itself out automatically?

Re: Custom BBCodes

I'm so confused now - what is the definitive youtube code we should be using? All I know is the one I got from here originally has stopped working  the ones you got from callum should certainly work. however, the old one should still work. this is the old standard one: bbcode: [youtube]{SIMPL...

Private messages not 'submitting' properly

When composing a new private message, pressing the 'submit' button causes a preview to be shown. Because the users have pressed submit however, they reasonably assume that the message has gone, and close the window when they actually need to press submit again to make sure it goes. It's as if the su...
