Re: using video clip for an avatar

As Robert said, you can convert short video clips into GIFs, although the size probably will be too large for comfort.

A quick Google search found me this: http://uk.bloggif.com/video

Re: Php version

You seem to have an older version of MySQL on the server. This is something you need to take up with your host. Edit: You can change the $dbms variable in config.php to 'mysqli', it might help since the mysqli extension was for v4.1+ and you may have multiple versions of MySQL server installed. You ...

Re: [BETA] Like button for Facebook

Your application ID is wrong. You have put it as 'feliclike'. It should be numeric, like '132520567438647'.

Re: [BETA] Like button for Facebook

Seems like https is being forced which causes the download links to fail. Just remove the 's' from https:// in the download links.

Re: [BETA] Like button for Facebook

This mod should work fine unless you have edited out some part of the code.

Re: DIABLO Tooltips where to add

Edit styles/LoLDominion/template/overall_header.html.

You can put it anywhere between the <head> tags, but to keep it organised, add it after this line.

Code: Select all

<script type="text/javascript" src="{T_SUPER_TEMPLATE_PATH}/forum_fn.js"></script>

Re: Large forum, MySQL slow on particular query

I think you would benefit from converting some of the tables like posts, forums, users, topics and sessions to InnoDB. Those are the tables which see a lot of concurrent read/writes and row-level locking should give you better performance IMO. Your read:write ratio, however, is quite high, which is ...

Re: Large forum, MySQL slow on particular query

But I noticed here that: "For data blocks, MySQL uses no special cache. Instead it relies on the native operating system file system cache." So this struck me as an explanation for why I have a database server bogged down in I/O even though it has plenty of free RAM. That is applicable for MyISAM t...

Re: Bandwidth going through the roof.

Posted images, signatures and avatars also contribute significantly to bandwidth usage. As your active userbase increase, your bandwidth usage should also increase. Most webmasters are usually thrilled when their bandwidth usage increases. And bandwidth is pretty cheap nowadays, and 5 GB/month isn't...

Re: How do I export data such as email addresses from phpBB?

Just run this query in phpMyAdmin :

Code: Select all

SELECT DISTINCT user_email FROM phpbb_users;
See: Executing SQL Queries in phpMyAdmin

As water01 said, PMA should be somewhere in the control panel provided by your host.

Re: Tapatalk ????

Including that JS code in the header is superfluous. It's used to detect a user on a mobile NOT using TapaTalk, and asking him if he wants to buy it. It's not something desirable, IMO.

If you have the mobiquo folder in the forum root, TapaTalk is fully functional.

Re: 500 Internal Server Error after PHP upgrade 5.4.0

The OP seems to be using Microsoft-IIS 7.5 as the web server.
