Re: Topic Error Help

Check if there are spaces before the starting <?php in /viewtopic.php. If there are spaces, please delete them and re-upload the file.

If that is not the case, edit the viewtopic.php file using Notepad++, save it as UTF-8 (without BOM), and re-upload it.

Re: .htaccess from Apache to Nginx, HELP

why would htaccess be any different for it than for apache? Nginx does not parse .htaccess files written for Apache. Configuration files written for Nginx has it's own syntax and so, everything, from redirects to rewrite rules have to be rewritten when migrating from Apache to Nginx. Now, as I see ...

Re: .htaccess from Apache to Nginx, HELP

This is a phpBB support forum. You have been provided with a sample Nginx configuration file for phpBB installations and that's about it. Converting Apache rewrite rules for Nginx does not fall within the purview of this forum. In any case, you won't get very far by asking anywhere to convert the ru...

Yes, you are right. Uppercase Ws are partially faded only on Windows 7.

Re: Board's login down after installing PHP 5.3.6

You need to set the local value to Off. Since the local .htaccess override does not work, set "php_admin_flag safe_mode off" in your httpd.conf/vhosts.conf.

Since this issue is outside the scope of this forum, you need to do a Google search to find what you need to do. These links should help.

Re: Board's login down after installing PHP 5.3.6

Put this inside a .php file and post the local and master values of safe_mode you get.

Code: Select all

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

Re: Board's login down after installing PHP 5.3.6

Set safe_mode to Off in your php.ini file. Ask your host to do that in case you don't have access to it.

You can also put this in a .htaccess file to disable safe mode if local overrides are enabled.

Code: Select all

php_value safe_mode "0"

Re: Parse error: syntax error

This is the one. The error is for the BEGINELSE at around line 259. However it is not possible for me to troubleshoot the error now. Maybe someone else will come along.

Re: Update to 3.0.9 not working

You are supposed to upload the install directory itself, not the files in the install directory individually. database_update.php index.php install_main.php install_update.php phpinfo.php Yes, you can delete those files without any repercussions. You also seem to have replaced the index.php in the r...
