Re: Forum ranks aren't working

Yeah I added the ranks as one of the first things I did, the user has only just passed the 30 post mark, and is now on 42 posts yet its not changed...

Forum ranks aren't working

Hi, I've got a phpBB vanilla installation and everythings working great, except that forum ranks don't seem to be assigned. In the admin panel, i've created 6 ranks, with different minimum post intervals. Newbie - 0 Mini - 30 Regular - 200 Super - 500 Genius - 1000 excuse the rubish names, they're j...

Re: [Beta]simple rss mod for phpbb3

Excellent mod! Thanks!! :)

One small request, is it possible to have smilies automagically removed or their path made absolute as when these are broken when shown in the rss feed

Re: Safely selecting data from db - mysql_escape..

Why should 'request_var' be used over simply assigning via $somevar = $_GET['something'];

Safely selecting data from db - mysql_escape..

Ok, a fundamental issue here that affects every mod writer on here so thought i'd ask publically and share the outcome so that everyone writing mods knows without ambiguity the correct method. Consider any given variable - for example, "identifier_id" - the unique, primary key field to identify any ...

Re: Edit user control panel to not display top tabs

Ive done it by explicitly coding the links to each of the tabs that i do want to show and removing the loop - is there a more elegant way of doing this?

Custom profile field directly in user table

Ive created a few extra user profile fields directly in the user table which is working fine, they can be seen in the forum etc and are populated using an external registration form. Thing is, I want to be able to edit these fields using the built in profile edit page in the ucp. Is there a way i ca...

how to make search case insensitive

I'm writing a little mod for use outside of the phpbb environment which will automatically search for users, forum posts and other areas of my site. It's all working great, except it's case sensitive. If i typed in Test, it would bring different results to test. How do i make it so it's case insensi...

Re: How to find top 20% in array

Ah, ok. That makes it easier already ;). You can just use $db->sql_query_limit for this. $percentage_users = round($config['num_users'] / 100 * 20, 0); $sql = 'SELECT user_id FROM ' . USERS_TABLE . ' WHERE user_type = ' . USER_NORMAL . ' OR user_type = ' . USER_FOUNDER . ' ORDER BY user_points DESC...

Re: How to find top 20% in array

Thanks for the speedy reply! :) Im trying to work out the top 20% based on the total number of users, rather than the top 20% of points... So if theres 100 users, i want to find the 20% of users who have the most points, so it'll fetch 20 results. This way the top user could have 1000 points, and ea...
