Re: Signature problems in phpbb3

Heya,

I'm also having this issue with avalon, prosilver and subsilver. I will see if I can figure out why in a little while.

Re: BBCode URLs

Ideas/Questions: 1. Is there any way to convert forum permissions? 2. Would it be possible to add a question during conversion to use old passwords and then have the converter replace the \includes\auth\auth_db.php file accordingly? This should cut down on end-user confusion as well as reduce outsi...

Re: vB 3.6.x -> phpBB 3.0 After Conversion Toolkit

Thanks for the feedback/ideas :) I think I will incorporate them and will make changes to a converter as well as maintain the toolkit. It's more for those poor folks like me who have already converted and then been sad :) So then to add (toolkit): BBCode Reparsing Converter Support for Avatar Revisi...

Re: vB 3.x convertor

The avatar error you're seeing may be caused by a part of the converter as it doesn't deal with avatar revisions that vB 3.6.x uses. A vB avatar will be named avatar2_10.gif for example which is made up of avatar{userid}_{revision}.{extension} but the converter just assumes a zero. So to be simple,...

Re: vB 3.x convertor

Ok, I've put up the first version of the After Conversion Toolkit.
There are bound to be some bugs and so on but please take a look at it here.

Hope it's useful. More on Monday.

vB 3.6.x -> phpBB 3.0 After Conversion Toolkit

I recently came over to phpBB from vBulletin 3.6.8 and after converting with This Converter I came across a couple of things I had to do afterwards. These included: Updating avatars to correctly display after moving Importing smilies from vBulletin Avatars The converter seems to move all your avatar...

Re: vB 3.x convertor

The attachment path error is a bit strange, I'll have to re-convert on my local machine and see if I can find the source. The avatar error you're seeing may be caused by a part of the converter as it doesn't deal with avatar revisions that vB 3.6.x uses. A vB avatar will be named avatar2_10.gif for ...

Re: vB 3.x convertor

It's a pleasure if it's useful to anyone :) So far what it'll do is: Update avatars to work in phpBB after import Import Smilies Import BBCode (Where Possible) Anything else someone wants or I figure out I need The first two are done and I'm working on the BBCode now. Anything to bring more people o...

Re: vB 3.x convertor

AFAIK the converter doesn't handle BBCode imports from vB to phpBB so quite a few won't work. If you can hang on till Monday I'm creating a toolkit that will take care of a couple of the tasks I've discovered I needed to do after importing.

Re: vB 3.x convertor

Just moved over from VB 3.6.8 and I'm enjoying it so far. Did anyone else come across problems with the avatars not showing up after converting? I've figured out the reason and the place in the code that'll allow me to fix it. PhpBB3 seems to store the avatar entry as {userid}_{10 characters based o...

Re: Passwords

Jim, the converter to be found here works with the changes you can find later on in the thread. It would be a good idea to read the whole thread before converting as there are bits of advice throughout. @Callum: Did you use the same converter? If so, you could have renamed auth_dbvb3.php and used it...
