Re: Why are avatars being automatically resized?

Oh, one more question. If I set a certain width in the maximum avatar dimensions in the ACP, and someone tries uploading/linking to an image that's wider, will the image be automatically resized to the set width, or will the user have to resize it themselves and try again? It will be rejected back ...

Re: Why are avatars being automatically resized?

There is 1px dedicated to the border between the postbit and the post content -- if they add up to 100% and you add the 1px border, some browsers will add a horizontal scrollbar.

Re: Why are avatars being automatically resized?

EDIT: I tried editing the code as you said, but although the avatar was enlarged, the right half of it was cut off. What do I need to change to stop any images, avatars or sigs or post images, from being automatically resized or partially cut off on post pages or profile pages or in private message...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.1 Ascraeus Feature Release Published

As a worldwide package I don't understand a new release is out only with a English language pack. Download page tells see download link for additional language pack but there is no for 3.1 as far I found. There are several additional languages for 3.1 already. French (both casual and formal), Russi...

Re: Why are avatars being automatically resized?

The postbit now has a max-width parameter on images in the css. From content.css: .postprofile .avatar img { display: block; height: auto !important; max-width: 100%; } If you remove the max-width directive, the avatars should be restored -- but might run over the edge of the container div. Looks li...

Re: {SITENAME}

{SITENAME} in particular is set in the admin panel, under General tab -> Board Settings. Most of the other placeholders you see in overall_header are set there as well, if they can be set at all.

Re: jQuery conflict?

Also note that phpBB calls for jQuery 1.11.0 - this may or may not be compatible with your music player. I'm currently working to update some javascript on my board that doesn't work with jQuery >= 1.8.0.

Re: Usage of phpBB sessions doesn't work anymore with 3.1 ?

The class name has changed, but not the instance name of the class.

i.e. if you were doing:

Code: Select all

$user = new user($params);
The new code would be

Code: Select all

$user = new phpbb_user($params);
However, phpBB does this instantiation under the covers. You should still be using $user and $auth in your code.

Re: phpBB + Foundation 5 or Bootstrap 3

I ask this because I was looking over prosilver it might be more work to reconstruct these base themes with the foundation grid in mind. I think you are correct. There was a lengthy discussion of using bootstrap in prosilver a few month back at the development forum: https://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/...

You're referring to the width of the page and the border around? See this topic: viewtopic.php?f=481&t=2269066

Re: Only Official Extensions Appear In ACP

I'm pretty sure your directory structure is wrong.

The rmgirr and vse directories should be moved up a level. Structure should be:

ext/
. phpbb/
.. official_exts_here/
. rmgirr83/
.. topfive/
.. elonw/
. vse/
.. foo/

Re: Remove phpBB logo in 3.1

You can delete the background-image line to remove the logo. Because its a background image, the content won't naturally reflow.

(And yeah, I was a little surprised to realize that wasn't an ACP option myself)

Re: "dreary" appearance

If all you're looking to do is adjust the colors, all you need to change are a few images and the styles/prosilver/theme/colours.css file. Making a black-on-white style should be relatively easy, but in general making something that looks acceptable requires an eye for detail. Here's some instructio...

prosilver's width is set in common.css, around line 177
max-width: 1152px;
The background color can be changed in colours.css, around line 6.
html, body {

background-color: #F5F7FA;

Re: Remove phpBB logo in 3.1

Editing the HTML is an option, but the easier way is to edit the css file to point to the new logo.
