They take the software provided here, modify it, then provide it on their servers. This is common, many 'free forum' hosts do this. However even though they use a modified / crippled version of the software available here, they are not affiliated or connected officially with phpbb.com in any way. Th...

'Forumcityusa' and 'phpbbnow' are not affiliated with this site in any way. The typical user on this forum downloads the phpBB package from the downloads page , and installs it on a proper webhost. Those "1click" install hosts (like those your forums are on) are not proper webhosts, and they cripple...

Not all themes have copyrights, and not all require that the copyright left intact. For more information you should contact the theme author or the site which you got or bought the theme from. The theme you speak of, did you obtain at this site (phpbb.com) ? No template which you download from this ...

You'll need to contact their support, and ask for a database backup.

Many of these "1click install free forum" hosts disable / cripple many functions of the forum, including database backups.

However some of them do provide database dumps on request, so you should contact them and inquire about it.

I know this version has a lot of capabilities and more features, but it's too confusing and everything is all over the place in the acp. It was easier with phpBB2. Don't you think? The phpBB3 system is much more powerful and versatile. Most typical users will only have to set permissions for his gr...

For some reason, once a mod is added it is no longer a mod but a *feature* No MODs have been "added" to 3.0, the features have been coded from the ground up by phpBBs devs. You are mistaking what a MOD is and what a feature is, its 2 different things. A MOD is not a feature, it is a modification wh...

Trel: All of them I think :s (edit: follow the instructions in lastof's post below to see why you can't see them) Mjatas that drop down box should appear at the base of the thread, if not then most likely you did not set up your permissions properly. Setting permissions can be done in a vast multitu...

Notify the administrator of the forum that his board has been compromised (hacked), and he should check the phpBB support forums here for assistance as soon as possible.
The file(s) on his webspace still contains malicious code, and he should fix the issue by updating his forum first chance he gets.

It will eventually be officially supported, however right now there's obviously other more pressing stuff at the top of the to-do list.

but I heard that it was a memory hog... The current builds of Vista have a lot of debug processes and debugging code in it, which result in it running slower than a 'release' build would. Many amateur reviewers just download a build off of some p2p network and bash it without realising it currently...
