That is a great request, but in an upcomign verion of phpBB, there will be the option to add your own fields. I believe it is 2.2, but please don't hold me on that.

Yes, just leave them there. They don't really hurt, they just show information about CVS and updates, etc. :)

Yes, that was stated previously. However, they will still be able to view the index. ;) However, that is what I suggest. :) In order to look at anything, they have to be registered/logged in.

Yea, that seems reasonable. I know some people who have mods do exactly that. :) If it is in question, they move it to that forum and the admin can decide to keep it or delete it.

You could do it for each and every forum :) This way they can see the index, but can't view any forums unless they login. :)

Yea, I second that idea. It may be confusing to a lot of people. At first, I didn't know what it meant but I quickly learned. :)

I disagree, because anybody to whom you give moderation capabilities, you should really be able to trust - logging every action of every user would be a huge drain on HD space :) Yes, I agree with this. I have been a moderator on many forums and you have to trust moderators, just like admins. :) -K...

Make sure you have cookies on. If you don't have cookies on or the cookie path isn't right, it will use the Session ID and you will be using sessions. :)

Yes, prefixes are good if you only have 1 or a couple of databases. You can have as many as you want if you have multiple forums. :) That is right though, be sure to change them whenever you add one. ;)

You can also do:

Code: Select all

<?php require'/path/to/file.php';?>

or

<?php include('/full/path'); ?>

:)

Yes, that logo you can just change to whatever you want. You can even make your own templates. Do whatever you want, just leave the copyright phpbb thing at the bottom. It's not a big deal, not many people pay attention to it anyway. It's a small price to pay for such a Great FREE BBS! :) -Kyle 8)
