Re: Database problems cause forum weirdness

Got it, I was looking at the structure view instead of browse. If I order by post date, I get a post from today as the first result. If I create a Unix Time Stamp for the date of the last post in the rogue thread, and search on it, there are no rows returned. So it looks like the forum is displaying...

Re: Database problems cause forum weirdness

Well, I am also guessing it doesn't have 16 million views. You guess right. :D Now go to phpMyAdmin and sort the post table by post_time, which will pop this post to the top. I'm getting into the realms of no experience here, so... I have the phpbb3_posts table displayed, and I can see post_time as...

http://www.horrortalk.com/_forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3474993 Go to the 'Horror in General' forum: http://www.horrortalk.com/_forum/viewforum.php?f=4 and it's the first non-sticky post titled "If you're pooping in a airport stall...%....." Also note, the date of last post "W...

Re: Database problems cause forum weirdness

No, it is not normal. For which table(s) was that reported? When you select the database on the left, in the list of tables on the right, all should be of type MyiSAM. Which aren't? My mistake, they were old tables left over from phpbb2. I've dropped them from db and the repair/optimize returned OK...

Re: Database problems cause forum weirdness

Thanks for that. I ran the repair/optimize, several of the tables reported "The handler for this table does not support repair" (or optimize, depending on the query). I assume this is normal? I've cleared the cache via FTP, also via ACP but the forum is still the same. Is there anything I ...

Re: Database problems cause forum weirdness

Thanks Steve, how would I go about doing that?

EDIT: Just the repair/optimize and resynching. I can do the cache bit.

Database problems cause forum weirdness

Your board's URL: http://www.horrortalk.com/_forum/index.php Version of phpBB3: 3.02 Was this a fresh install or a(n) update/upgrade/conversion (please be specific)? Upgrade from phpbb2 to phpbb3.0, then 3.01, then 3.02. No problems through any of that. Did you use an automated wizard provided by y...

Re: Table 'phpbb3_sessions' is read only [1036]

Thanks Jim, is it something I can do myself via cPanel or does it have to be the host that fixes it?

Table 'phpbb3_sessions' is read only [1036]

Hello, I've been running a forum on phpbb3 for some time now, the installation was up to date to the latest build and all was well. However, I just went to the forum and got the following SQL error: SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ] Table 'phpbb3_sessions' is read only [1036] An sql error occurred while fetching...

Re: [Release] Darkness for phpBB 3.0 RC5

Rove, thanks for continuing the work on this excellent style. We're using it for our forum at http://www.horrortalk.com/_forum/index.php with a few tweaks, and so far it's gone down very well with the userbase. One thing I'd like to know is if anyone has had any success using a quick reply mod with ...
