Optimize phpbb_posts slow

I have started to get timeouts when I try to backup my site with MySQLDumper. The problem is that the phpbb_posts table is 450 MB in size and it seems to cause the timeout. However, I can optimize the phpbb_posts table with phpMyAdmin without timeouts but it takes 5 minutes and then the backup with ...

Re: Blank White screen almost daily.

I have got white pages intermittenly and I guess it must have been overloading of the MySQL server of the host. Later the site worked exactly normal with the identical files and configuration. I think if you use Explorer as browser, you will get error message and not a blank page that Firefox gives.

Re: database too big to export.

Try MySQLDumper because it can split the backup in different smaller backup file sizes:

Re: Link to Frontpage

I searched for this problem, but did not find a solution. Thats why I posted my solution to this problem, so others can be helped.

Alternatively, one can only have a link with text.

To the frontpage of the site.

Check that the files are present in phpBB3 directory. Check the permissions for phpBB3 directory and the files and directories in it.

Re: SPAMMERS block

Since I started with spamprotection with a question 6 years ago, I have not had a single spam, so I think it is the best and simplest way to go. There is also possible to forbid certain spam words in htaccess, if a spammer succed to get through the spam defence: RewriteEngine On ########## Begin - B...

Re: Joomla master .htaccess disturbs avatars

I have solved the problem by adding this line prior to these htaccess entries, which make an exeption for the personal avatars so they not are affected by this: ## Allow phpBB3 personal uploaded avatars to be visible, Access to moderationpanel from dropdownbox in post RewriteRule ^phpBB3/download/fi...

Re: My forum loading very slowly.

I have the cheapest webb hotel in Europe and now and then the forum gets very slow. It is probably caused by overload of the database server. Cheap web hotels tend to have too many customers on each server and then the database can get too busy and the forum gets slow. In one case the web hotel move...
