Re: Custom BBCodes

I have the following hide/button code on my forum but it can only be used once in each post. Is there any way of adapting the code to allow multiple buttons to be used per post? I think the way it uses parentNode means wrapping it in another <div></div> should work. Try something like: <div class="...

Yes - I guessed there must be a problem with the [kombinovatelne] code - that's why I asked if it worked on its own.

Glad you found the problem :)

It's all CSS :)

Use

Code: Select all

font-style: italic;
instead of:

Code: Select all

text-decoration: underline;
Mix and match to your heart's content :)

Re: Custom BBCodes

How do you program a bbcode that underlines a text, text size small and makes it bold at the same time? Use the existing ones like this: How do you program a bbcode that underlines a text, text size small and makes it bold at the same time? [size=85][u][b]How do you program a bbcode that underlines...

Re: Groups / Ranks

Well see, you can set up your local installation - then you can test all these things. The MOD may be compatible with 3.0.2 - with an offline board you can try it out - no danger. Ask the MOD author too, about compatibility :) If the Style author hasn't updated the style you can use Raimon's Style c...

Re: Groups / Ranks

I have to do manual updates.... Might consider it. Even though you still never solved your FTP issue with automatic updates, you could still take a copy of your board and do your updates offline on your local pc. It's not that difficult to do, see here for the principles: http://www.phpbb.com/kb/ar...

Re: Getting my forum listed on google

I think SEO is overrated Funny story: I created a site for my sister, for her business, and it took off. She is 3 of the first 10 google links for what she does She's thrilled I got an email from a cousin asking for my SEO secrets - I don't know what to say because he wants to pay me for them - I t...

Re: Getting my forum listed on google

Patience will be your friend, Matthew.

What you can also do is make sure you have links to your forum on Signatures on other forums (like here).
Google likes external links.

Try Yahoo Site Explorer and MSN Webmasters too.

And a link in dmoz would do no harm at all (google it !)

good luck

Jim
