Re: no bots defined in user table?!

Indeed I have! :o

Does that mean that all the bots defined in the users table of my other forum are basically useless?

thanks,
r.

no bots defined in user table?!

Hello everyone, I just realized that in one of my phpBB boards (one I have recently updated from 2.x version and one that had a bridge to Mambo or Joomla defined ... not sure if that was the reason) I have no bots defined (usually defined with user_type="2" and group_id="6"). Is there a simple and s...

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

aargh ... I had to disable the extension for now, it sent the same digest emails again (3 per person with 10 different posts in each of them) TWICE within 2 hours = 6 emails per user within 2 hours. That was on my larger board with lots of traffic. On the smaller test board it didn't happen, but pro...

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

Good news - it works! The issue obviously was that I didn't copy the bbcode.html file to my style's subdirectory this time. It was a little odd that every user seems to have received 2 emails with different contents (I set the max. # of posts per daily digests to 10 - are more emails sent if there w...

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

Okay, now when running the .phpcli.php command from the command line I get something like 'couldnt get cron lock', but not the bbcode.html error message anymore (maybe the cron was locked again despite me firing the SQL command before because the board is so busy). However, on both boards (the very ...

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

Just FYI, as already said, on my board, attachments are disallowed and always have been. So that can't be the [only] reason.

cheers and yeah, let's hope one of the phpBB creators can jump in!

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

But doesn't the admin log message "Regular (phpBB) cron run of the mailer invoked" indicate it's using phpBB's internal cron routine? Anyhoo, running "php ./bin/phpbbcli.php cron:run" from my phpBB dir on the server returns "couldn't get lock for cron job". After executing the SQL command on the dat...

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

Is there anything in the error log (maintenance tab) on this? the error log is empty. Admin log shows "Regular (phpBB) cron run of the mailer invoked" and "Starting digest mailer" right afterwards. No further messages. you will need to clear the cron lock using the instructions in my last post. yes...

Re: New users don't get email notifications for private messages by default

As I've posted in another thread, I was able to get phpBB to send email notifications by setting "Email package size" to 0 in "ACP -> Email settings". No idea why, but that did the trick for me.

hope this helps,
r.

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

Thanks for the update!

Feedback: I'm not allowing attachments in any of my forums. but wherever I installed the latest version, cron still locks and no emails are sent.

kind regards,

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

@uruguayito: I'm dealing with the same issues, the current version doesn't work for me (cron jobs get locked - look at your acp admin logs - , and no digests at all are sent). @Mark thanks, but I for one wouldn't need the files at Github. Wherever is fine for you, even from a no-name server. ;) I'd ...

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

Hi Mark, thanks for the feedback! I still feel I have no control whatsoever over the board sending digests. On one smaller board, it appears to work now, but using the same settings on a large board (30k users, 500k posts with about 150-300 per day) I only get to see the "Starting digest mailer" mes...

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

Hi Mark, looks as changing this option doesn't make a difference. Still, no digests sent. Btw, editing a user's setting from the ACP resulted in the following error: SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ] You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the ri...

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

aargh, thanks, I didn't find that out so far! Those are the settings for one of my test users - I don't see anything that would block 200-300 posts from being processed for a daily digest? http://i.imgur.com/YYbh1bz.jpg Test digests work fine. phpbb admin log contains the "A digest was NOT se...

Re: [BETA] Digests 3.0.1

Thanks for your feedback! As mentioned, the board receives 300+ posts per day, certainly 99% of them contain more than 10 words. All forums are included (default setting in the ACP: "0") That's why it really feels strange that no digest is generated. (By the way, it would be fantastic if the admin c...
