Re: Question on forum permissions

Set the

Code: Select all

Can See Forum
to "Yes" for Guests and Registered Users and everyone should be able to see the forum listing, but not read the topics within.

Re: How do I install my forum on my computer to make changes

You can actually put styles up on your live board and use the preview link in the ACP to see them, even if they are not activated for users to use.

Re: Error General - Out of range value adjusted column - Mys

Download a fresh package from phpBB.com
Upload the /install/ folder
go to http://yourwebsite.com/path-to-forum/in ... pgrade.php

Again, speculation based on SQL errors. I think there is a KB article somewhere on upgrade to mysql5, but I can't seem to find it.

Re: Error General - Out of range value adjusted column - Mys

I haven't personally seen this error before, so the solution I provide is a GENERAL SQL fix:

Re: Questions about Bots

Also, you can't merge two phpBB user lists together. That isn't true, its a really tricky process as you've got to make sure that you merge everything but it is possible (although not advised if you're not absolutely sure what you are doing) I understand this, but I was being polite considering the...

Re: How to add login to nav bar?

There are instructions inside the unzipped file, open them in your browser and it will tell you what files to upload and exactly what you have to edit to make the mod work.

You also need to be careful about your cookie settings, and make sure that they are specific to /phpbb1 and /phpbb2 (obviously your paths are different).

Re: How to run forum between two computers?

I just want to run it from my home pc with 2 computers. Is there any doc on how to do this and what to watch out for? You can't do this, it would take a manual backup and move of the board every time you switch home computers. Which is unrealistic. I would strongly suggest you choose a hosting prov...

Re: User groups and Private messages

If you are asking if the users will be added to the group if you change the filter settings afterward: The answer is no. However, you can go back and add users with less than 60 posts (or whatever your criteria is) to the NRU group and they will be removed automatically when they meet this criteria,...
