High server load

Hello, My hosts have told that there is a high server load through viewposts.php and viewtopic.php. We have 2000 members which strikes me as an average amount but the hosts are saying the server load is high. I am wondering whether it's bots etc putting a load on a server. The activated bots in phpB...

Re: Anti Spam measures and experiences

I want to add some regsitration questions, I can add some in phpBB 3, but I cannot seem to make the answers determine whether registration is a success. I want to add 2 questions as security, either the users gets them right or registration is not achieved. Can that be done? Sounds like people have ...

Re: User count dropping by the second!

Okay, it looks like one of my admin pruned users with no posts, investing if this was actually him or a security breach.

Re: User count dropping by the second!

Update,

I have noted it stopped at 979 users, the forum deleted every users with no posts. I did not want that to happen, the admin log shows no actively of these users being deleted or pruning taking place.

User count dropping by the second!

Hello I have just converted to a new phpBB3 forum,

I had difficulty in getting the script to run, see this thread http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 8&t=547309

When I refresh I find new users gone,

In ten minutes it's gone from 3800 to under 2000!

I am not pruning anything, any ideas?

I'll ask and see whether he can shed some light on it that may help everybody else having these troubles.
That would be much appreciated.

Re: Conversion does not complete

All 3 of our databases are 35Mb+,

Maybe there is a server memory issue?

I can set up fresh phpBB2 boards and convert to phpBB3 no problem,

Further When I try exporting my database all I get is another download prompt for export.php

How many steps did it do?

The only other suggestion I can make, is if you want to send me a backup copy of your database, I will see if I can spot a problem.
No error messages, on 'continue conversion' button nothing happens whatsoever.

Re: Conversion does not complete

Exact same problem here, Note that I don't feel it's a server issue, I have successfully converted a fresh phpBB 2.0.22 to RC1 on my server. I suspect it may be database related. Maybe those of use having this same issue should collate our circumstances to see if we can find a pattern that may give ...

Re: Cannot run conversion scripts

No affect on results again,

I select MySQL for database type, the only option given.

I checked NO on the refresh page option.
