You'll do well to find out now what version it is as you need this info later. OK, now using leap ftp, open your cgi space and upload ...

Error

SQL-query :

INSERT INTO `phpbb_liverusers`
VALUES (

-1, 0, 'Anonymous'

Three pineapples you are a genius and without trying it i know you've solved the problem 8) :D :D I did delete it in a moment of desperation last week when my site or domain controller had been hacked and tonnes of members (me included) were locked from the site. I saw the word NULL next to it and w...

That's the weird thing...it doesn't even get to the screen where you type a username...you click the link for age 13 or above and it comes straight up with the error message!

Check the slashes at the start of the path there. I had similar problems defining where my smilies came from and sorted it that way.

Also try without the /forums/ so it would be simply images/smilies you typed into the storage path bit.

One way is pruning.

Either set the forums to auto prune every x no. of days or do it yourself using the option.

Thanks for the help p_o_r and CTCNet...I've found the problem, well, the solution anyway...my site HAD been hacked and as a broadband user, my static IP was what was stopping me from getting anywhere. I got my service provider to change my IP address and it's all dandy now...except for if it happens...

Apparently the best thing to do is the following: Backup the entire database using myadmin. Install new version using new table prefix e.g phpbb2_ Open database in wordpad and simply find and replace every instance of your old prefix with the new one e.g phpbb_ with phpbb2_ Re-upload the entire data...

Set custom levels for domain and allowed cookies. Cleared cache, cookies, history and all to no avail. I'm using IE 6, XP Pro with SP1 and as I said above, clean installed last night!! Strange...anyway, I've emailed my ISP, they're the only ones who can shed any light on this I'm sure. Thanks again ...
