cookie domain: The recommendation is to put the domain there (remembering that two dots are essential , e.g. domain.com will not work properly but .domain.com or domain.com. may work), with path set to / this will (or should!) work in the vast majority of cases. If it doesn't the next recommendatio...

Cookie Issue "Maybe"

This is what one of our users has told us; I keep checking the box that says "log me in on each visit," but it isn't working. Whenver I go to a link that I get in email about a reply to a topic that I'm subbed to, even if I was logged in first, I'm no longer logged in when I get to the page. I wonde...

cookie domain: "left it blank"

If you have your forums setup within a subdomain. You will have to set the cookie domain to the subdomain name.

Example:

web site URL: www.domain.com
forum URL: forums.domain.com

Your "cookie domain" would be forums.domain.com.

Remote Avatar w/ Admin Control

Are limiting who can have remote avatars on your site? If not, then why not just enable remote avatars as it won't matter if they can or cannot. I had concerns that some may try and put pictures that are either vulger or not appropriate for our site content. But, after thinking about it, what would ...

A Whooh! to phpBB!

With all the features that 2.1 has, this thing blows away the other so called forum software on the markert. And when version 2.2 comes out, ...

Moving phpBB to a new directory

We installed phpBB in one directory to test it out before we open it up for use on our site. We would like to move it to a new directory. How would we go about doing that? I know we would need to save the config.php file, but once we make the move, how do we reconnect the script back to the datbase?...
